Howdy again folks! I'm back to beat my Pulse Rifle drum.
I've posted threads on this in the past, so please permit me to summarize as best I'm able.
(1) Legendary Pulse Rifles lose out in DPS to all other Legendary primaries, assuming optimal range for max damage
(2) Legendary Pulse Rifles suffer in ammo depth compared to most other Legendary primaries, with more inventory than Hand Cannons but often less rounds per magazine (and poorer reserve AND mag than almost anything else)
(3) Legendary Pulse Rifles theoretically offer more damage-per-trigger-pull than Scout Rifles, more range than Hand Cannons, and more precision than Autorifles. In actuality, controlled bursts from Shadow Price (as for example) are noticeably more effective than 3-round shots from Pulse Rifles, and Hand Cannons don't give up enough range to matter, especially since their Impact is so high they can still hit creditably hard near the limit of their optimal ranges. The PRs do cause more damage than SRs if all 3 bullets hit, but that requirement limits the PRs' effective range even more.
My suggestions are to reduce the stability of high-Impact Autorifles like Shadow Price very slightly, worsen the Handling of Scout Rifles very slightly (make them more awkward in CQB), and globally increase the Impact of Legi Pulse Rifles slightly. I would recommend these be implemented and tested individually rather than en masse, as it might be possible to resolve the role of Pulse Rifles without damaging the performance of any other type of primary weapon. But please do consider Pulse Rifles for a buff. Super Pox VLO and Fair and Square are two of my very favorite weapons, and they really feel underpowered in comparison to their other Legendary primary peers.
Thanks for reading!

Pulse rifle across board buff. How often do you see people using a pulse rifle in or out of crucible? Not many unless they use strangers rifle.

Bump. Apart from the bit about nerfing other weapons. They would need to tread carefully though, Bad Juju would be a beast.

Just reading the comments of the past few hours, there is a lot of resistance to nerfing other weapons (Autorifles and Scout Rifles), and as a user of both I can certainly understand that. To restate (for Bungie), I would be happy to see the other primary weapon types remain in their current stat/performance configurations, as long as Pulse Rifles get a fair slice of the pie. By pretty much universal acclaim of the posters below, that seems to mean a global buff to Pulse Rifles, probably with slight individual tailoring. DeeJ and balance team, please let us know what you think. Thanks to all who have responded, by all means keep it coming!

You got my vovte but (2) its not realy true - my POX VLO got 42 rounds in clip so its means 14 bursts. Not bad... but RoF and Impact vs other weapons is bad. And newest Red Death Nerf :(- Bungie i sugest to remove Pulse rifles entirely from game because you guys dont know what BALANCE word means.).

You've got my vote

I'd like a higher impact rate, my fair and square barely beats out my grim citizen in damage per bullet but my grim has a faster, constant fire rate and is ironically more accurate and it beats out my bad seed in RoF and impact, and is about the same for range and reload and while bad seed has much better stability I've never had a problem with grim not hitting exactly where I want it to... I hate to compare destiny to halo
im a ps owner btw
but pulse rifles should act more on the line of battle rifles do, or at least did in halo 3.

I would much rather see a buff that the nerfing of other weapons. As a pulse rifle user I do agree tho that the pulse rifles need to be reworked

I've got Praedyth's timepiece and I think it's one of the best pulse rifles in the game. High rate of fire and great accuracy.

I agreed with everything you stated until the last paragraph where you suggested nerfing other weapon types. As a community, we need to destroy the "Let's nerf it!" mindset...this is due to the fact that every swing of the nerf-bat will at the least upset someone, and at worse cause people to quit since their favorite weapon/item/armor type had something taken away from it. Why not simply buff Pulse Rifles to be on par with ARs, SRs and Hand Cannons? I enjoy the concept of Pulse Rifles, however, both Scout Rifles & Auto Rifles have more DPS...I have tested several alternatives from The Lord High Fixer, Devil to the Plox, Vanquisher, Price, Fair & Square, etc. Pulse Rifles need a buff (especially Juju's per bullet damage against Yellow Bar NPCs); everything else does NOT need a nerf. I welcome any feedback. :-)

I hate to bump my own topic, but... need visibility. BUMP FOR GREAT JUSTICE!

Would be nice to see them feel more useful in all game modes. Their role is useless atm
