He's not referring to PvP (a.k.a Crucible) marks or rep. He's speaking about the Factions. Why can you only earn currency for the factions only through crucible when Vanguard events can get you the rep? His point is valid. Either take away the ability to earn faction rep through vanguard, or make vanguard marks faction currency as well. He's not asking for a handout, and his request makes perfect sense.
