Gotcha, I misread your edit, sorry for offering a reason you already had listed. I guess the fact that we can't do both exchanges answers your question of whether Bungie staff thinks it would be that bad to have a way to turn one type of marks to the other. Maybe someone at Bungie will respond and explain their reasoning.
