Did anyone ever kill a metal slime? They always ran away.

I killed lots of metal slimed. The area on the southern part of the map where the top tier skeletons spawned had lots of metal slime spawns. I forget the spell that could ohk them but if you could get it off, nice 1300+ experience :)
