Did you get marks from material exchange as well as rep ???

Yes you did. VG marks and rep for what ever faction you are with. Now nothing. They could have at least left the reputation factor there.

I never understood the rep part as 50 mats for 25 rep was utterly pointless but for marks too it's not that bad :)

They took the marks out because people would farm and turn the mats in for the marks. They removed the reputation part to make it harder to gain levels with the faction you choose to be with. This was an easy way if you were close to level with a faction to walk up and cash in some mats. Same thing with the cryptarch. It use to take roughly 16-18 engrams to level with him, now it's doubled.
