So what if you are doing a strike to farm glimmer and effectively killing all the enemies as intended and the other two just rushed through on sparrows to the darkness zone.
You just got booted for playing the strike correctly

Edited by D1V1N1TY: 12/8/2014 5:43:01 PMFarm for glimmer on patrol or a story mission or Patrol. That's what I do. Not everyone wants to kill every single thing on a strike. There's no perfect solution here ... but these would be the best.

Lol don't tell me not to kill the enemies in a mission as if I'm playing the game incorrectly. Get bent

Edited by D1V1N1TY: 12/8/2014 5:55:24 PMNo need to get defensive. I wasn't ripping on you for it ... just stating a fact ... I don't like running all the way through to the boss because it lowers my chance of getting a legendary engram drop from the ads, but the matter of the fact is that it happens. "AFKers" are worse than "Runners" IMHO ... and I'm willing to run the risk that someone might run through ... We could build on my idea and say that there's a timer on both sides of the Darkness Zone if not everyone is in it together. Everyone has to be in the same zone or everyone gets booted back to orbit ... ... provide solutions, not just complaints ...

You aren't stating facts, you are stating opinions. "These are the best options." The best option doesn't involve a situation in which I'm not allowed to engage in the designed mechanics of the game.

Edited by D1V1N1TY: 12/8/2014 6:07:06 PMFact is, you will always have "runners" and "afk" because of the design ... those are FACTS. I'm not disagreeing with you, but I'm fed up with AFKers. Again, provide solutions and not just criticism ... all you've done is disagreed but not provided any potential solutions.

Incorrect. I provided a solution, take away all matchmaking. Here's another one off the top of my head since you are too limited to see past your own flawed idea: Force ghost interaction from all guardians before being allowed into a darkness zone.

Edited by D1V1N1TY: 12/8/2014 6:15:28 PMWhy do you feel the need to be insulting and condescending? Why can't we just have a productive mature discussion without the barbs? If there are better ideas then I'm all for them ... ideas usually aren't perfect from the beginning and require discussions to further them to a point where they usable. I'm not sure about removing match-making all together. Not everyone has a group to roll with. Maybe if you made it optional for match-making and implement elements like my ideas for the match-making scenarios?

Edited by DrCrunchTasty: 12/8/2014 6:16:40 PMSorry if I seem standoffish, I'm just debating the FACTS you have presented (also in what seemed to be to me a condescending matter) Me calling you limited wasn't being derogatory - you are limiting you're ability to expand on the issue by saying "you will always have runners" as a fact rather than combat the runners with another solution.

Edited by D1V1N1TY: 12/8/2014 6:24:43 PMI apologize if I came across as condescending. That wasn't the case, and often it's lost in translation when there's no context for written text. I think a combination of what we suggested would potentially work .... 1. Gauardian can select whether they want to do the strike with / without matchmaking. 2. A countdown timer once 2 out of the 3 guardians reach the Darkness Zone for AFK. 3. Force an event to occur to prevent runners before the Darkness Zone (similar to the Nexus Strike when you have to destroy the 3 servitors or the Devil's Lair when you have to fight those waves of ads to get the gate open). It won't stop a guy from getting ahead while you kill everything, but it would slow them down. Maybe it forces the runner to wait until the rest of the strike team catches up before it begins the event?
-
Sounds feasible. I'm hesitant on the timer though, depending on the length of time. Either way, sorry for coming off rude - I'm on ps4 if ya ever want to run something. Refreshing to see someone stay so civil in the face of discourse.

Edited by D1V1N1TY: 12/8/2014 7:38:29 PMI hear you ... it would need to be a reasonable amount of time on a timer. This might be a better alternative ..... if the AFK isn't in the Darkness Zone before the end of the timer, the group carries on without them. That person is then left to strike on their own. That way, the AFK might perpetually be stuck in the strike without completing it. People could join through matchmaking and carry on, but the AFK keeps getting left behind wasting their time since they're not completing the strike. Implement an event to slow down the runners that prevents them from running through without completing that event. :) I'd love to game with you, but I'm currently on the XB360. :( I'm waiting for Halo 5 before going to the XB1. I'd get a PS4 just so I can play some of their exclusive titles, but the boss (read WIFE) would have my head on a platter if I had 2 consoles. LOL
