You can get a refund for the expansion > [http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/83678452/0/0]
This DLC was NOT worth $20. 3 missions, a strike that we can't play until Friday, a raid that we can only do on one difficulty until SOME time in January, and some new guns/armor. It only took my friend and I 1 hour and 45 minutes to complete all the missions, and the Playstation exclusive strike. We aren't even level 30. Now we get to wait until friday to buy "The Urn of Sacrifice" from Xur before we can do the new strike (Nightfall/Heroic).
In many other games, this would be just a regular update, not something we have to pay $20 for. I pre-ordered the Collectors Edition and went to the midnight release, so I got the Expansion Pass with everything. Had I purchased a regular copy of Destiny without the Expansion Pass and seen what this The Dark Below added, I would have NEVER wasted $20 on it.
I will be calling customer support tomorrow afternoon demanding a refund for this DLC.
[Edit] I pre-ordered my copy of Destiny (Collectors Edition), and got it at the midnight release. At this time, there was absolutely NO information as to the contents of The Dark Below nor any other future DLC. Since I purchased the Collectors Edition of the game, I received the Expansion Pass when I got the game (at the midnight release for those of you who can't keep up). So for those of you who keep commenting "the content of the DLC was available before it was released. you knew what you were buying", I clearly had no way of knowing what The Dark Below would include when I received my Expansion Pass.
So stop making these useless comments, you're only making yourself look like an idiot.
And for those of you who keep mentioning the Nightfall, stop. The strike has literally 0% to do with the point I'm trying to make. Those of you who can't seem to figure out my point in this (which seems to be a lot of you), my point is that for the content we received with this DLC, we shouldn't have had to pay for it. This is content that should have been in the game from the start, or it should have been given to us free of charge. The ONLY part of this Expansion that would be worth any sort of money would be the 3 Crucible maps, and those should have been a DLC of their own. This way, those of us who don't give a rats-ass about the Crucible wouldn't have to pay for something we don't want.

Beware Zombie Thread!! Move along

-

-
$20 isn't shit. Get a real job..
-
Good luck with that bud. Every hear of buyer beware?

One of the most biased reviews I've ever read, seems like someone may have formed an opinion before understanding the subject fully, but hey, some valid points were made. However any journalist that cannot use a spell-check cannot be taken seriously.

Edited by Sorana3: 1/10/2015 3:55:16 AMUnlike a lot of the morons on this forum, I actually agree with you and understand. It wasn't even my money that was used to buy the expansion pass (got that and the game as a birthday gift), and I still feel bad that that person essentially got cheated out of their money.

K cool story bro
-
Wow ur a little whiny one aren't yah? U made the choice to purchase it. If u are not happy then make better more informed choices next time champ.
-
Of you don't like it I'd recommend not pre-ordering video games or DLC for any games in the future. Reviews exist to inform people about games and DLC. If you pre-order you give up the right to complain when content isn't what you want it to be. If people would quit pre-ordering and made informed purchase about games than companies would quit shipping broken games and games with to little content.

Smh biggest dlc in a long time on a console game. You can play the nightfall after you finish quest 1 that's right quest one after you buy that thing from xur quest 2 opens up. And than there will be quest 3 all consisting of smaller missions. The raid itself is more content than most dlc nowadays. At least bungie tries to bring it back to a point where dlc adds something more than just multilayer maps.
-
Ill give you $100 to stop your damn whining !
-
Edited by TheGuyNamedAngel: 12/11/2014 3:12:58 PMLol, you can play the strike right now. You just need to finish the quests.... So, your whole argument is invalid. Edit: It's all definitely worth it. You get more from the DLC than CoD DLC.

Sucks I still don't get why people are complaining it's amazing and still really fun and totally worth the money
-
Edited by void: 12/11/2014 3:13:16 PMSeriously. Stop. It's £20/$20 for essentially another 8hrs of gameplay (including the raid), that's really not much. The hard raid is unavailable because it's not possible yet. It's hard enough on normal. What's the point in putting it in right away? All that will happen is people like you will go on the Internet and complain about how hard it is. Seriously get over it. You won't do shit, all you want to do is cause an issue to feed your ego. It's pointless. If you don't like it, don't play it.

All games are a waste of money. You pay your money make a choice. I paid £40 for unity and played 2 hrs. I paid £60 for destiny and have over 100 hrs. you win some you loose some. It's called life in a consumer society.
-
You shouldnt have bought it then m8, stop complaining
-
Lol at poor people
-
$5 new gear $5 new guns $5 new raid $5 new strike and missions People would play that much separate on any game.
-
"Bungie might've spent the time between the release of the game and to the release of this DLC to tweak, test and improve the content but the problem is that the DLC has basically no filesize. Why? because IT'S ALREADY IN THE GAME AT LAUNCH!" -linkenski Truest thing I have seen on this topic.
-
In many other games, this would be just a regular update, not something we have to pay $20 for.
Exaggerate much? The only games nowadays that would consider this a non paid update are 1) F2P games that will milk you with micro-transactions. 2) Subscription games where you're already paying every month.
-
So do you ever play any other Xbox/PS games that require DLC. For example every call of duty DLC is at least $14.99 for a few new maps. Dark souls maybe a new area. So on and on we go and so just an fyi most DLC costs between $9.99 and $20. If that is too much then I suggest you don't play games that have a chance of adding new content. The season pass for AW is $50 so most games now can easily go above $100+.
-
Have you seen any info about where I can get a refund for xbox?
-
You idiots still don't get the point. I love this game, don't get me wrong, but compare the story line and the amount of game play to previous Activision games(aka early cod) you start to realize that $59.99 you spent compared to now is now severely watered down not to mention the $20 you're about to drop. A broken down story arc that makes no sense at times that results in no more then about 6 hrs of game play. Some would argue the online playability but even you have to admit cycling through 5 or so maps can be a little redundant not to mention the armour and weapons I just spent hours upgrading are now rendered obsolete with higher level versions now available; the last part is just venting my frustration and before the band wagon can hop on yes I realize its part of the game. We all know what to expect when purchasing an add-on, but if your thinking your expectations to be exceded(especially for $20 worth) I'd like a little something more in return. How about still being able to do a nightfall strike like I was able to do when I made the first initial $60 investment instead of forcing me to pay more for something I already bought. With a little research you can find what the original writer/creator(same guy for Halo) had in mind and you'll see how awesome this game could've/can/willbe. FYI I haven't bought the expansion...
-
I agree. It's not quite what I'd expect, but I'm hopeful that it evolves into something better.
