I collect a lot of materials like Spinmetal. I sometimes just go and do that alone in Patrol. I've started putting them in my vault by the 200. I spent a lot of time gathering them; It's sad to think I might have to just discard them. Like it never happened. I wish they could be exchanged for something valuable, like Motes of Light or Ascendant materials, or even just Marks of some sort. I don't need more glimmer, I'm always capped at the 25,000 limit anyway. I hope this will be considered by the developers.

The only thing i can assume is they wanted people to play the crucible for the factions...however that makes buying faction class items for pve players pointless and limits extremely how much access they have... I personally have felt the half the fun was taken, plus patrol mode is even more of a headache now because there is almost no benefit to it at all....

I agree that Quartermaster should take Materials for Marks and Marks for Materials. So no matter what your "play style" is , you can afford the gear required. Even trading materials for Crucible Marks should be considered as people may like the look / perks of certain weapons and armour but dont like crucible. Same goes to players who dont like PVE but like the PVE items. Bungie - why take away something that was there from the start ?? Adding to the game makes sense , Taking things away that were there from the start is bad. Personally i liked running bounties and doing patrols while farming for materials. then being able to trade in for marks. I found i was taking just as long to do a few strikes and earn the marks, as i was to do a few patrols and trade materials in for marks. When DLC's are released , Armour and Weapons get a jazz up and you need to redo everything again and again ,so make it viable to allow different types of upgrade ways to suit each persons preferred style of game play. A FEW IDEAS . ( Introducing more ways to trade from vendor to vendor such as : Guns for Armour, - trade them ( but with a lower value) -ie. 2 guns for 1 random Armour piece of same colour etc. Engrams for reputation/marks - blues and above traded for rep / marks , or vice versa to get random engrams from makrs / rep ALSO , ORBIT VAULT ACCESS - should be added asap... swapping stuff from character to character is a nightmare ! Takes so long to get into Tower drop off gear into vault , swap characters , go back to Tower , load up gear.. etc etc.. Orbit access vault should also allow you to see what each of your characters has in their inventory and drag and drop where required. Even if its limited to show one character at a time , this is much quicker than going to tower each time . OR , just allow destiny apps / wesbite to be able to make changes to your character. !!! Easy ! :)

The only thing I know about commendations is how they're earned and what they're used for. I agree with you in that I wish an announcement or post had been made, which explains their purpose, use, etc. The only reason I found out was because I had just leveled up my first character to 20, and was poking around the reputation details when talking to the FWC rep. in the city.

I was pretty pissed off at first, I won't lie to y'all. I'm over it but I hope the powers that be reconsider the rare materials exchange mechanics. I would love an alternative method for acquiring stuff like shards, energy, coins etc.

yeah I know what u mean I was confused by this to because that was the only reason I needed spinmetal for except for the occasional weapon/armor upgrade needing it.

So there is a limit on vanguard marks you can hold of 200. So as I was saving up marks for the new stuff I just held on to a ton of spinmetal and other materials that I knew I could exchange for marks when needed. So now I go to exchange and the icons are the same and I click on the spinmetal and.... IT TAKES MY DAMNED MARKS INSTEAD OF GIVING ME THEM. Seriously Bungie. Why change stuff that doesn't need changing. Not happy one bit now. Sometimes I think the devs must be on the waccy baccy!
