So my favorite weapon in any game that has ever had it is the bow and arrow. The grace and precision needed, the power and the overall badassery in a bow is outrageous.
My question to you is do you think a bow and arrow would be possible in any way in destiny? If so then how do you think it could work? If not then why?
Personal opinion is that I think it could be added, maybe not as its own class (though that's the dream) but as an exotic primary. Maybe much like the no land beyond. A primary slot sniper, this would be similar to no land beyond in that you would have to notch after each shot. I think this could work because by calling it a sniper you could have similar damages, one shot headshot and two shot body shots.

Now and arrow could be pretty sikk. Crossbow. I think they would be great. Specially with elemental damage.
-
no. go back to skyrim
-
I would like a sword, but a bow would be very cool as well, good thinking
-
it should be a part of the hunters next subclass as a super...
-
No it won't work. It would look stupid. It make destiney start looking like TF 2.
-
Crysis 3 ftw
-
What a coincidence. I was just commenting in another topic about how I'm surprised that there isn't a futuristic bow and arrow or crossbow variant in this game.
-
Relic House of Wolves it shoots exploding rounds custom made from the Queen

I like the thought of it.... I just don't know if they could make it work without getting ridiculous, maybe if it was there from there start it wouldn't sound so wild. Just to add it doesn't make sense to me though.. The mechanics required for it to feel competitive with other weapons would make it feel too... Unreal to me? And I know it's a fantasy game, but things still kind of have to make sense or be explainable. To add a bow it would have to have its own way of being unique/powerful... Then you'd have to ask yourself, why would a bow be able to do this in a fantasy game, but my sniper rifle can't? Or, why is a bow and arrow suddenly more effective than my future weapons. In my opinion it's just too much of a stretch.

It would be an awesome hunter weapon.. With fire arrows. And the ability to shoot and stick thrawls to the wall
-
I like the idea as I too love archery. However, I can see a high powered crossbow being feasible, but straight up archery with a compound bow, I think not, unless they completely revamp the combat and weapons systems to where hunters use bows and cross bows, titans use swords and shields, and warlocks use wands. I don't really see it happening at all.

An exotic crossbow would be nice...
-
Easy as pie...the bow shoots energy bolts of whichever element. Same range and fire rate as a fusion rifle but looks badass instead.

The Flood of Longface will not stop!!! Join us!
-
Golden gun should have been a bow. Three arrow shots of light. How Bungie came to the hunter having a handgun as a super I will never understand... We use a knife for gods sake
-
I think that would be horrible.
-
Given the mystical traveller light technology it's certainly possible. I was thinking they could make it into a rocket launcher type exotic, since it takes a Longish time to reload a bow and arrow and there's not really arrow clips unless it's a crossbow.
-
Possible, should be same speed as VoC scout rifle. Look at how legolas uses his freakin bow. I'd love to have a bow and arrow with that speed. Would make for some impressive game play.
-
Think of torque bow in gears. Would be nice
-
The arrows should be made of light and form in your hand. No reaching. A little faster
-
The only way I could see one being implemented is either a crossbow based energy weapon, or a super attack for a third warlock or hunter class. Would be fun though.
-
It will not but it is my hands down favorite weapon in every game. The last of us multiplayer with a bow is soo amazing.
-
A crossbow like Daryl from the walking dead would be cool, including the 20 second reload time lol
-
Wrist crossbow in the special slot that does massive DOT but has shitty range. Run up to a mob, dart him, and watch him slowly die.
-
I couldn't quite see a bow fitting into future technology, but some kinda crossbow is quite viable and honestly an awesome idea
-
I'd welcome a recurve technobow. But there wouldn't be enough time to place shots or make up for missed shots. It would result in death more often than not unless they made it with area damage to counteract the fact that many shots won't fall exactly where intended, allowing snipers and folks with scouts to find you and put you down.
