I've actually made a second character only to hold all my excess materials. I just can't stop myself from collecting them while doing patrol. If I see it I gotta have it!
Still hoping they will bring the function back. It doesn't even has to be marks imo, anything useful will do.

I think it's engrained into mmo players to collect anything that's not nailed down. I have online kleptomania when playing mmo's.

Maybe that is why they killed farming for reps and marks, Destiny is a PvP game with a touch of PvE. MMO is not welcome in Destiny.
