I don’t think they can at this point.
The original story is gone and it isn’t coming back, and I honestly don’t know how, at this point, you make sense out of what we have. I mean imagine in Mass Effect if you had already beaten the reapers but didn’t know what they were or why you needed to kill them? Or in Borderlands you killed Handsome Jack but didn’t know who he was? Or if they never explained who snake was in Metal Gear. Or if in Silent Hill you just wander into town, not looking for anyone? Thats the situation we have here. We’ve killed a ton of different races and some big bosses and collected a lot of crap, but we have no idea who we are, or who our enemies are, or what our motivation is. We are just doing. And then this new chick shows up and tells us to kill another big thing, cause he is bad I guess and we go do that. Why? Idk...cause destiny I guess. How do you tack a story onto all the crap we’ve already done after the fact?

Edited by xXScrapzXx: 12/11/2014 4:35:34 PMThere is clearly a story and background of everyone and everything, its just not implemented within the game. Instead it is outside the game in the form of grimore cards. Completely confused on why this approach was taken.

Speculation is that it was a late game change. The original story got cut and maybe they only had time to put together the grimore card system. There may be a treasure trove of narrative in there, but if it isn’t in the game it may as well not even exist to a large portion of the user base.
