Crota Defeated at 5 Minutes 42 Seconds

Useful guide on our setup
Fire team was all 31 but you can do this easily with 4 31's, 3 of them being the Gjallahorns, and 1 relic holder. 30's can be snipers. Is possible with only 1 31 but will take longer and more firepower.
Requirements: 2 Icebreakers and 3 Gjallarhorns. (Dragons Breath may work, have not tested) the clusters from Gjallarhorn are what takes down Crota's shield so quickly.
Sniper Duty: 2 members of the fire team are required to have Icebreakers and all they do is snipe the Knights that spawn at the top towers to the left and right of crota to insure the safety of the relic holder. Sniper stay posted at the exit of the left side near the stairs
Rocketmen: 3 members fire 1 rocket at the same time to down Crota's shield only when the relic holder calls out his safe location
Relic Holder: once grabbing the relic run to the rock location and call out that you are there so Crota's shield gets destroyed, jump straight up to him (as he is kneeling) spam R2 3 times and immediately jump back down to the rock and call out for Crota's shield to be destroyed again. Rinse and repeat the process until dead.
When Ogres spawn have everyone down in the lower middle building (snipers included) and destroy the ogres, once completed have the snipers return to their stations.
Video pretty much explains itself.

good info

My group was close to that but I don't have a recording equipment it only took three swords. Is there a way to see how many people have beaten the raid?

Edited by el_tigere89: 12/12/2014 2:12:19 PMWell done bro. thanks for sharing the insight

i feel as if you guys are forgetting its only on normal, hard will be lvl 34+ and no revives, ads will be lvl 36 probably( if u notice how everything is lvl 32 in a lvl "30" raid, only speculation tho)

A good sniper spot is on the ledge right infront of the invisible wall where the Crota shard is. Great vantage point for both towers and nobody will hurt you. The only way you can get hurt is if Crota moves to the side and shoots or if thralls hurt you behind the invisible wall (doesn't happen often). In which case Crota moves to the side, just jump to the opposite exit of the rooms and snipe from there. Another attack for the sword guy is [R1-R1-R2] it does good damage and is faster and safer than spamming R2 3 times Good luck gents
