Edit: I'm seeing a lot of unsure claims that we also get Crucible Commendations from leveling up our New Monarchy, Dead Orbit and Future War Cult rep. If you can confirm this please do. This would greatly reduce my frustration on the matter. As a player that only enjoys the Crucible in small doses I can't stand that we now require these Crucible Commendations to purchase Crucible gear! As if it wasn't enough that Bungie robbed us of the option to sell material for Crucible Marks. I understand to an extent that additional currency was required for the new higher level gear but why can't it be a single currency that can be earned in both Vanguard and Crucible and be spent on both Vanguard and Crucible gear as well? This is supposed to be a game that allows me to customize my Guardian to my liking and preference but Bungie continues to make it a game that forces me to do something I don't enjoy to reach my preference goal. This was a very poor decision Bungie and I'm extremely disappointed...
