Very true. However the players now leaving having already paid for the season pass should learn one lesson:
Stop preordering games. This year should have taught us that its not a good idea to spend the money before seing the final product. No trailer,no demo,no advertising are reliable for the final content.
So hopefully those leaving wont preorder again but wait for the relase to speak for itself.

You make a great point. All they have to do is sell the image of the game, once all the pre-orders are picked up it doesn't matter to them at all if the game is any good or not past launch week. I was a GameStop store manager for several years, I can tell you the vast majority of money most games make is in its first two days of release.
