The worst part is I feel I am being punished for being a conscious consumer and reading reviews before I buy into something. I did not preorder because I planned on reading reviews before attempting to buy the xpac Tuesday evening. However, feedback Tuesday morning/afternoon was TERRIBLE! I decided to not buy and continue to enjoy the nightfall/weekly/daily on my 3 different characters since I don't raid or pvp. I didn't even log on the first 2 days because of the news of lockouts. I decided to finally check it out yesterday (Thursday) and even the DAILY was locked! Logged out immediately. I have never experienced a game that punished players for not buying DLC. I can't even get 3 months from a full priced game if I don't pay more? I did not sign up for a subscription service, but would happily support quality content. The new stuff should entice me to opt in, not force me in, which only pushes me away.

  • They haven't locked you out of anything. The Nightfall and Weekly this week are both from DLC content and if you don't have the DLC you don't have access to that content. When they switch the Nightfall and Weekly to something from the original game it will no longer be locked to you.

  • Name a non-subscription game where an event you did prior to an expansion was removed from ONLY non-expansion players. I'm not talking about an overhaul that changed an aspect of the game for everyone, this changed only for people who did not pay more money. I have no problems not playing anything in the DLC, but I do have issue when something included in the base game is removed. Almost every game I own, no matter how many post-production updates came out, is playable as it was the day I purchased. There is no replay value outside of the daily/weekly events after you complete the story, and those events are not available right now without the xpac. It is one thing to tease pretty items and say, "opt in if you want these new things." It is another thing to lock something you have been doing since day 1 and say, "opt in if you want to continue what you have already been doing." What if you bought a new car, and next year when the new model comes out they ask you to upgrade or you can't use the roads for week? Those dirt roads we used back in the day (story mode) is still usable, but that paved road you used to get to work and the store yesterday, sorry. Temporary or not, that is most definitely a "lock out."

  • No, I'm saying when the Weekly and Nightfall aren't from the DLC you will be able to access them again. Just not when they select a strike from the new DLC. Its not a complete lockout, its not letting you access content you haven't purchased. You can still play weekly and Nightfall once they aren't from the new content, but if you're crying because you simply can't access them at all for RIGHT NOW, then yes it is a lockout for now... So maybe you cant access this week, but next week maybe you can.

  • I seriously can't believe they locked people out of playing. That is dirty tactics. Disgusting.
