Don't kill the questioner

This is solely opinion by me and a friend of mine over a topic near and dear friend I us both SAO a. Him: he doesn't like were the makers of SAO are taking the story. Like me, he grew up watching .hack//sign so he is mainly used to a fight for survival anime. He even though likes the meaning of the anime, believes they are getting o far from their roots especially in the 2nd part of this new season. he doesn't beleive there will be a 3rd. Me: I absolutely love the new season. I wasn't a huge fan of GGO but it did its purpose (won't spoil it). When I first watched SAO I was watch some other 4 at that same time so that could also have effected my view on it, but I knew this is how the anime would teen up when they escaped. I wanted them to start with a clean slate and base it around Kirito and Asuna and their transition as well as normal gaming without all that high emotion (even tough it is nessarly in most cases). You:? Idk... Post your opinions below. I know with be and my friend this is a touch subject but hopefully it's not so touchy here. PS. Saw first ever Crunchyroll commercial and SAO was in it.

  • I can agree to a point. SAO's first 14 episodes of season 1 will always be my favourite, but I knew a concept like that couldn't last forever without growing repetitive. That said, I've read the light novels so I'm really hoping they make a season 3, because they go in a whole new direction and introduce a lot of new concepts. TLDR: Side stories were cool, but looking forward to the next arc.
