1) I'd allow you to name your character. 2) I'd have things actually matter, like I posted here. 3) I'd have something other than every single strike/raid ending with a giant boss that just shuffles from place to place while waves of minions hurl themselves at you. 4) I'd have community challenges, such as "if 3 million hive are killed in a 48 hour period, all users will be rewarded with <something>" 5) I'd plan my expansions to actually expand shit, like having a new planet, or a completely new area of a planet, and I'd have some sort of deep, meaningful back-story to explain the new planet or new area. 6) I'd plan on having some sort of cataclysmic event every year, something that we gear up for. If we pass the event, the world stays the same or gets better. If we fail the event (and it would be hard), the world would change for the worse. First event? Save and reactivate Rasputin. The community would have to band together to do a handful of multi-part tasks, including something raid related, and if, at the end, Rasputin survives, everyone's weapons would get a 100pt dmg buff. If we failed, and Rasputin was lost, the community would have to spend the next year dealing with random public events that spawned inside the tower while you're trying to turn in bounties and refill your ammo syncs. 7) I'd have the factions actually do something other than provide another vendor in the tower. And your faction alignment would matter, and would make both players and NPCs interact with you differently 8) I'd allow player trading of gear 9) I'd expand the classes a little, so that each class has more distinct advantages and drawbacks (just a personal preference, I think what we have today is serviceable) Those are just off the top of my head. There's a TON more that could be done to make this feel like a world where we're fighting a war, instead of just a game that has a grind.

 • You have some good ideas. Some will be possible in Destiny 2. People expect giant changes to Destiny. It'd be great to have tons of new content. But there's only so much that can be added to the original game. If we were paying monthly fees, we might get bigger chunks of content, but Bungie chose a plan that's more familiar to console gamers. Release game, sell a couple DLCs, and release the next full game. Small changes, bug fixes will happen, but I don't expect WoW level additions to to Destiny.

 • I totally agree, there's only so much that can be added to the game. And yes, I understand about how the monthly fee would allow for more/varied content. I hate that I agree, but I agree. And I think there's probably a ton of factors that decided the game we currently have, everything from greed to disparity between old/new gen consoles to Bungie entering new territory regarding MMO/RPG mechanics, and a whole lot more. I guess my main disappointment, and the thing that I think Bungie really failed at, was taking this FPS/MMO/RPG genre they tried to create and making it uniquely their own. They did a fantastic job with the engine and the artwork. But (and I'm not sure why) it's like they put in zero creative effort on anything except the raids. There's a lot of bog-standard MMO and RPG type stuff, but it's essentially grinding for the sake of grinding, which we've seen a hundred times before in other games. That said, they are getting better. But I want them to make the immersive world that I care deeply about that they so often mentioned pre-launch. I really really want to give a shit about my character and the universe he lives in, not just in how much gear drops how often. //but hey, maybe that's just me.
