I agree 100% with your thoughts and article. But in the end this is a video game that each individual paid for or was gifted which either way we own. Therefore as a video game that each individual owns, we or they can do whatever they please. It's not about what's right or wrong. I would understand and support that aspect 100% in real life but not in a video game I'm sorry. I do respect what you're trying to achieve here and is very much appreciated. I'm more about completing a mission but if I want to run it'll be my choice no matter what you or anybody says. Of course idling is annoying and I'm personally against it, but again it's their choice and they have the right to do it since it's their game.
With all that being said, my best solution: play always with friends. That's what I do 90% of my gaming time. I always play with friends so I have no issues whatsoever. My friends or I can idle, run or complete with no problems and no complaints.
In the end we are here to have fun and there are no rules I'm sorry. I wish for you the best and for you to have fun always. If you don't like someone (random) just leave and find another group. Honestly I've been also lucky when I play with other randoms...they've been cool and nice.
