Broke my right arm in 12 places between my shoulder and elbow when I crash landed my hang glider when I was a junior in college back in 1980.

Damn, must have been absolutely painful, how was the recovery process?

Very long, broken so bad there was nothing to set and it just hung there in a big ol cast.

How is the arm now? Fully recovered?

Can't straighten my arm 100% but other than that it's fine.

Oh, well that's good, it's amazing how if that happened a long long time ago, you'd get your arm amputated, but nowadays almost any injuries can be nursed back to health with the right treatment.

Yep. Back in Otto Lellienthal's (sp) day. One of the first unpowered weight shift glider pilots. He actually died in a crash.
