They should just make this guy increase the chance of better engrams as your Cryptarch level goes up. Cryptarch level seems to do absolutely nothing and the gear he displays is always the same. Oh, and my luck has become worse since the patch. I at least got one Legendary a week out of like um.... a dozen or more rank increases. I know people have better luck but I usually almost always get two blues. You would think maxing out all of your strikes for all three characters in the week would at least land you something. Talk about a grind. Could be worse. I suspect there are people over level 50 with the Cryptarch who still get junk. What Guardian wouldn't want a minigame where the Cryptarch arrives with you alone in the Crucible and you chase him with each hit that you manage to land causing him to drop a random engram. =D
