I know I joke that characters have a secret luck stat that impacts their RNG.

That's actually true! PLS not RNG. And it is flawed, I would even argue glitched. Like when you got the Queen's helmet 14 times in a row -- that's not random. I posted about this extensively. They claim to have fixed RNG in the new Crota raid but not the rest of the game.
