My point wasn't that they were made here or not. My point was that they are a very common product and would have had to have seen the language at least once. Not a history lesson.

Sorry, but I meant no offense nor criticism. I just found it amusing that you would use the American-born fortune cookie to illustrate your example. Really, I meant no offense. I speak and read some Japanese, and can tell the difference, spoken and written, between Chinese (both Madarin and Cantonese), Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Tagalog, etc. Again, sorry. I meant no harm.
