Weird Whispers Heard in the Game
I am surprised no one else has heard them, but there has been at least two times when I have heard someone whisper a word to me in the game. I don't remember where (maybe Venus?) or what the first one said but I do remember the second one. At the tower, I stopped talking to the Shipwright and was leaping over the twisted cords to the left and heard someone whisper "escape."
Now the first one I heard I was playing with a friend online and he did not hear it. However, the second one my brother was watching me play and heard "escape" too. So maybe only I could hear it on my screen?
I don't know if this has anything to do with it but I am a level 26 Hunter and have both the expansion and have completed the main storyline.
Has anyone else heard this?

I've heard random things as well. Never gave much thought to them. Maybe someone's theory that we're all part of a vex simulation is right and what we're hearing is reality slipping through.

One when I was going to the tower I . Was waiting to spawn in and the screen went black, then someone said "what sort of creature are you? I'm from the ash" I think he said ash or it might've been dirt, also it sounded like xur

Just in the last couple of days I've heard some random deep growling. Once whilst flying to join a crucible match. I think it's after me.

I've heard "oh no!", and when they land a shot I've heard "excellent!". Of course, I might just be attributing language to regular sounds, but whatever. There's a chance there is something even more sinister going on: TINFOIL HATS GO ON NOW.... Bungie is using a well-known psychological model to create addiction to the game. That is indisputable, as recent articles comparing the game to a 'Skinner Box' have discussed. We are all being conditioned to play more and more. However, I don't think it is out of the realm of possibilities that there are also subliminal sounds being played in the game as well. Some of which crosses from subconscious to the conscious mind at times.

Right before spawning into the tower I heard some deep voice say 'Your stare is cold, merciless, ...' Couldn't make out the last word. Hecka creepy

The whispers are confirmed to come off the new raid guns. For example, if I am using the raid fusion rifle in the area you're at, you'll hear whispers, however I won't. But hearing it in the tower... Unless Husk of the Pit/Eidolon Ally gives of whispers... I just have no clue

Perhaps you're hearing "shimmering" sounds coming from loot chests and upgrade materials, like relic iron. If you hear the sounds again, try looking around in the immediate area for loot chests and stuff.
