I have heard whispers from time to time in game. Mostly i can't tell what they are saying.
Another weird thing I have noticed is that when I first started playing all the races just seems to grunt and say incoherent alien waffle as they charge at you.
But more recently (especially with the fallen) I am sure I am starting to hear comprehensible words. I can't think of exact examples at the moment as it is only reading this post that I properly stopped and thought about it.
But an example would be dregs talking to each other like shouting a warning would previously be "wibble wibble" is now staring to sound like "gheeett heeiimm"!
It could just be bad hearing on my part and they have always been slightly understandable, or it could be that due to repetition that I am starting to pick up on something. :/
Anyone else noticed this or should I call the crazy bus? :D
English

Wibble wibble

Thanks I like your posts too :)
-
Yeah I said this on another persons post we play so much we are learning their language
-
Maybe you are beginning to understand their language
-
Haha maybe lol
-
On the strike with the archon priest, as he jumps from his cell, I keep trying to figure out what he is saying. Sounds kind of like "charles chucky says.." or something like that.
-
I always think he says, "It's your time, Khaleesi!" Like from Game of thrones.
-
I know he says, "it's your time" that's at least part of what he says when he jumps out of his space ship/jail cell thingy.
-
Sometimes I hear the Dregs cuss. :)
-
Yep! I have heard that too!
-
-
Your learning their language!! D:
-
Maybe I am an alien :O
-
This means we play way too much. I too feel that in recent weeks their words sound English. Ive heard "kill him" before. Pretty sure this is a psychological experiment on the part of Bungie.
-
Maybe lol :)
-
Have they said anything to you about pancakes or chimichangas?
-
No not that I recall lol but then I am English so...

Edited by x_8-BitZombie_x: 12/17/2014 6:33:40 PMThis could actually be an instance where your brain is taking noises that sound close to language and then reconfiguring them into words you understand based on the context of those noises. It happens all the time when you mishear people, your brain fills in the gaps of what you didn't hear and you think they said something else. On a another note, I've thought I've heard words too...
-
Yes this is the most likely answer :)
This could actually be an instance where your brain is taking noises that sound close to language and then reconfiguring them into words you understand based on the context of those noises.
We look for patterns of understanding all the time, it's how our brain works. As I understand it, it's the same reason we see shapes in the clouds or The Jesus on a slice of rye. If The Darkness took time out of their purported quest to destroy humanity to learn English and then speak it brokenly to us as we shoot at them, that would be something else! :D

Edited by Pretender: 12/17/2014 6:31:14 PMthere is a rumour that when you come close to the fallen you can hear them say "the darkness!" (Referring to your guardian) leading to more evidence that we are actually the minions of the darkness ruled by the traveller, but I haven't actually heard then say it personally, which is whybibstill refer to it as a rumour. But I do think we are the bad guys.

Go stand next to the speaker and listen to him talk to... Whatever or whoever he is talking to... He says some suspicious sounding things
-
Edited by W0LVE5: 12/17/2014 9:34:27 PMI will listen out for that, i have definitely heard dregs say something that ends in "ness" and its like a slurred hiss at the end.
-
I have encountered a dreg once that said "the darkness" when it saw me. I am a firm believer that Rasputin is the good guy and the Traveler is the darkness. Take trip to the Speaker and you can hear him say things like "that doesn't make sense" while he's looking at the books etc. His faith is being questions. We are the darkness.

I have heard things like that too from the speaker Really makes you think...
