This could actually be an instance where your brain is taking noises that sound close to language and then reconfiguring them into words you understand based on the context of those noises. It happens all the time when you mishear people, your brain fills in the gaps of what you didn't hear and you think they said something else. On a another note, I've thought I've heard words too...
