LCD and LED LCD (which is just an LCD panel with an LED backlight as opposed to florescent) both suck. I'm talking about OLED, which is currently the best screen you can buy, especially at 4K resolution. They are not cheap. Not even a little bit.

Because it's a new technologie, that's why it's so expensive. Of course its going to look better, its also extremely expensive to purchase

There was a time when a plasma would cost $10k.

And yes at one point Plasmas were 10k but that's not the case right now... So yes you can get a better picture but it will be at a cost of a car payment for the average person. Good luck getting a oled TV in the next 5 years for under 2k.

For the most part the main market is buying LCD and LED TVs because a normal person with an average income will not purchase an OleD TV. So for the normal consumer they cannot get a great picture or as good of a picture out of a LCD or LED TV as they would a plasma TV in the same price range.
