We had an original Pong system and even then it sucked. But the Atari 2600 came out and a whole new world came alive. The tv set now became something completely new. Adventure was the game for me as a young kid. Pit Fall, Moon Patrol, Battlezone, Dig Dug, Bugertime, Defender, Q Bert, Space Invaders, Missile Command, and on and on. The Atari 5200 was a huge leap forward. But probably the most fun I had was playing strategy games on our Apple II C. SSI had a game called Galactic Adventures. Google it. Still play in on a Apple Emulator on my laptop. But Doom on our IBM 486 playing with my brother through dial up on a home made LAN was by far the most fond memories. Tie Fighter consumed many hours of my teenage years.
