Your worst RNG moment?
Hey guys! I decided to start a thread and see what everyone's worst moment was when dealing with RNG?
[b]Mine:[/b] Spent half an hour farming glimmer that i needed to upgrade my Heart of the Praxic Fire to 2.0. Then broke down a Patience and Time to get an exotic shard, and i bought the upgrade. Then went and immediately did the nightfall, and what do you think my roll was at the end? Heart of the Praxic Fire 2.0..........

Edit: Looks like we've hit 1,000+ replies! I don't know if that's a good thing or a depressingly sad thing that we've all had such terrible luck. Lol either way, keep em comin' guys!
Edit: Wow! 2,000+ replies! Judging from the number of replies to my thread about your "best RNG moment," i'd say we all have more bad luck than good with this game. Lol

I've never gotten an exotic or legendary from nightfall. I've never gotten engrams either, I've only ever gotten shards or energy.

Open the VoG exotic chest and get a second Truth on my warlock on Monday, reset happens and I go Tuesday an open it again and get useless shards on Titan and Hunter... Then my worlock opens it and gets... Another god damn truth. Still had the one from last week flashing from never hovering over it....

Taking 4 h to do the nightfall beacuse I always died in the final boss (6 times in a row) and after asking for help in Forums and complete the nightfall 1 of the randoms got the Gjahlahorn and the other a Monte Carlo .

One thing I can say is that I get very excited when I turn in blue engrams to get a mote of light or some junk weapon. Why?.....because he says. "There aren't many of those left". He is so out of touch.

Hard to pick just one...maybe 90% of purple engrams turning into fvcking shards/energy? Shards/energy from nightfall? I think for me it's having 35+ Crota kills and never getting my helmets while watching my friend get one on his warlock every week for the last month.

Last week's nightfall. First run on my Hunter, I got Broken Truth. Whatever. Second run I did on my Titan, Broken Truth. Third run I did on my Warlock, [b]Truth[/b]. I really couldn't not handle the truth that week

IMHO, the RNG method wouldn't be so horrible if the drops weren't so frikkin' [b]stingy[/b] that they make Scrooge look unbelievably generous. When you only ever [u]see[/u] a Legendary engram once every blue moon it needs to be something useful at least half the time. If it dropped 4 or 5 times more often with the same resolution rate, it wouldn't be [i]quite[/i] so painful when it duplicated or gave you something useless. Note to Bungie: Grinding hour upon hour to get a 0.0001 percent to get something good is [u]NOT[/u] FUN! I don't do PVP 'cause I suck at it, and I don't do raids because I've never been able to fix whatever network problem is blocking voice. That leaves "the grind". Yesterday I ran 3 Vangard ROC strikes, finally managed to beat Crota's Soul on hard, ran the Daily Heroic, ran a few other strikes, and ran hours of patrols to make bounties, making sure to get quite a few public events. Along the way I racked up close to 4,000 kills in all the hours I played (somewhere around 8). I even reached the next level in Cryptarch reputation. What did I get for my time/trouble? I didn't even [i]see[/i] a single legendary drop. The handful of blues [i]ALL[/i] decoded into useless crap. (Now I know why weapons aren't allowed in the tower. We'd use them on that blankety-blank Cryptarch!) I didn't get a single Strange Coin (a total of only 3 since Friday). Not even a legendary weapon, nevermind an exotic. The [i]only[/i] useful thing I got was two ascendent energies I need towards upgrading the handful of legendary weapons I got. When the only motivation to spend lots of time playing a [b][u]GAME[/u][/b] is to hope against hope to win the lottery and get that shiny thing rather than because it's fun and/or has a fascinating story, then there is something seriously, seriously wrong with the game designer's decision process.

I got an purple heavy weapon engram. So I thought. Wow, I could be so -blam!-ing happy if this would turn out to be a gjallarhorn. So I hopped into my ship, traveled across stars and planets to arrive at the tower. Parked my pretty oversized ship and ran towards the cryptark. I knew he was a douche from previous visits so I didn't get my hopes up. I let him decrypt my purplish engram and Bam!! Truth. My heart stopped for a second because I really thought it was the gjally. But it was my 6th truth. Aids

I already have warlock Sunbreakers. Xur turned up selling Sunbreakers. I bought 2 exotic gauntlet engrams. Both Sunbreakers. So I went back to Xur and asked for a refund and he said no, so I beat the s**t out of him. Sorry I think I dreamt the second part.

Playing Crota normal on three characters since Dark Below launch and still don't have the only gun to collect left the Black Hammer

Created a third character, power leveled to 20, equipped the class boots, gauntlets, and exotic helm I received on other characters. Vendor rank wasn't high enough to buy chest piece. Decided to play 1 roc strike b4 bed...got legendary engram for chest piece...lost my sh!t in excitement...then...then i decrypted engram into ascendant material....
