Robotech. The Macross Saga (aka first generation) was the best. Second gen was complete crap. Third gen was a firm second place. Its kinda soap-ish but not really. Its content includes explosions, transforming robots, aliens, human survival, and love struggles. Its from the 1980s in the USA. IP owner is Harmony Gold in case you have trouble finding it.
