I disagree completely, if you could trade marks for different ones it would ruin the balance of the game. People could easily get more than the 100 mark a week limit. Also why would you want to trade marks, it makes you false. People can look at your armor and tell what type of person you are based on your armor. Also farming for materials was not pit away lol. I farm for materials all the time because 1 in every 7 chests will give me 10-16 material from that planet. It is easier to farm materials than it used to be and a heck of a lot faster than buying them. Stop complaining about how Bungie made the game. The game is perfect and extremely fun to play
How could anyone get more than the weekly limit? Spending marks doesn't decrease your progress towards the weekly cap.
Before they changed it, you could purchase crucible marks with materials, which had no impact on "balance".
If you had both the New exchange and the old one, you would need to earn the full 100 weekly cap for just 20 of the opposing marks. Which would leave you unable to earn anymore for the week. So trading mark for Mark wouldn't be practical, unless you were desperate.
I'm glad you think this game is "perfect" but most people don't agree with that assessment. I just think it's funny that you think cutting off PvE players from faction vendors was the best thing ever.
If I throw on a faction bond and earn enough rep I can get some random piece of faction gear. Yet I can't walk over and get the actual stats I want on my gear because 5 of the vendors only accept crucible marks...
Yea, sounds perfect to me too...

Glad you think it sounds perfect :)

Yep, the best way to make a game awesome is by limiting player choices.
