I've read a few posts that the fallen won't particularly make for a very difficult opponent in the next raid. I beg to differ, and here's why. 10 things to consider...
1. Weapons that track better than any other in the game
2. Invisible Vandals of all kinds (snipers, sword bearers)
3. Teleporting Captains
4. Captains and Vandals that know how to take cover very well
5. Vandals with swords that chase you aggressively
6. Dregs with knives that chase you aggressively (these aren't like dumb thralls)
7. Vandals that know how to snipe very well
8. Servitors that teleport
9. Bosses carry weapons that kill you in one shot
10. Shanks! (pests like harpies!)
BONUS: Randal the Vandal has family you haven't met!!!
Edit: I didn't even include the fact the fallen know how to run. Vex goblins only walked. Minotaurs would walk fast but not run. So since the fallen run, how much harder will this raid be?

Nah, I think it'll be multiple priests taking place inside the Prison of Elders.
-
No more sitting on a rock and laughing

I'm calling it now. The boss will be a massive shank. The Father of Shanks will be 500 feet tall and contain within him a shank production factory, constantly churning out wave after wave of the shielded blighters. During the fight you have to enter his body through an exhaust vent and shut down the factory. Only then is he vulnerable to attack while he undertakes internal repairs. Gjallahorns at the ready! Hmm what else could the boss be?

10 reasons no matter what they do, I will probably not be happy..... 10. Upon defeating the raid I will receive 10 strange coins 9. Upon defeating the raid I will receive 9 strange coins 8. Upon defeating the raid I will receive 8 strange coins 7. Upon defeating the raid I will receive 7 strange coins 6. Upon defeating the raid I will receive 6 strange coins 5. Upon defeating the raid I will receive 5 strange coins 4. Upon defeating the raid I will receive 4 strange coins 3. Upon defeating the raid I will receive 3 strange coins 2. Upon defeating the raid I will receive 2 strange coins 1. Upon defeating the raid I will receive a mote of light AND.... Wait for it...... A GD STRANGE COIN!

Im just waiting to see if Randal the Vandal will be there. It'd be cool if Bungie gives him that name and adds him into the raid for the lulz.
-
Don't forget about the devil walkers. Albeit more annoying then hard but I cringe to think of a scenario pitting us against one with wave of 'semi' invisible vandles charging us in a area with little cover. Just saying.

Edited by CrispyGrandmas: 12/29/2014 4:20:55 PMI think the complaints and issues with the Vault of Glass and Crota's End Bungie will to look into ways to incorporate new enemies and mechanics into the House of Wolves raid to up the difficulty. I hope.
-
You know Crota's End was disappointing when people are already thinking so much about The House Of Wolves
-
I feel as though randal the vandal deserves to fight amongst his brethren in this raid
-
Ya this upcoming raid will be hardcore and for legendary players
till its cheesed
-
Edited by ragincajunnugz: 12/29/2014 3:43:11 PMI've always thought that the Fallen are, if not most difficult, the most annoying ass enemies in the game. God help you if there is Arc burn and lightswitch on a Fallen-filled Nightfall. Not too difficult, again, but JEBUS, getting one-hit melee'd in the back by a stupid dreg, or sniped across the WORLD for a one-shot makes me fill with pure rage.
-
See these 10 things Bungie? They're all OP. Please nerf.
-
I presume it will be a Heroic raid and the tougher version is on mythic
-
Very good points...can't wait
-
Finall boss: A vandal who is riding a devil walker.... think about it..

Edited by SH0R7CAKE: 12/29/2014 3:15:28 PMYou forgot dropships that hit like a truck... The one that comes to mind is during the archon priest fight
-
I'd say Fallen are the peskiest enemy in the game.
-
They should have a room full of Epic Captains and invisible vandals
-
The house of wolves boss was already created months ago. If you look at the cover of the dark below dlc, you'll see Crota in the background. On the house of wolves cover, there's a massive captain like the archon priest.
-
I wonder what the raid weapon would be (like what will be the "house of wolves" mythoclast
-
Hopefully it's longer then the other 2

First lets compare the different enemy types so far. (each tier is my own opinion of what i think are similar to each other) Fodder: Shank, Thrall, Harpy Trash: Dreg, Acolyte, Goblin Annoyance: Vandal, Wizard / Knight, Hobgoblin FML: Captain, Wizard / Knight, Minotaur Rare: Servitor, Ogre, Hydra 1. Since only Vandals use those seeker weapons i doubt we will see many of them so its not a big deal. 2. This will suck at first until players learn where and when they spawn and kill them almost immediately (similar to hobs in VoG and boomers at the end of CE) 3. Since Captains are always behind cover they aren't really a threat. Cowards. 4. See #3 5. Agree, but without lightswitch it shouldn't be unmanageable. 6. Boom Headshot! Problem? 7. See #2 8. Servitors are pretty much never a threat since they attack slow and aren't shielded. Not sure if srs. 9. Umm what? So far the only thing that a boss can do to one shot you is melee you. 10. Knights in CE weren't shielded and neither were the Harpies in VoG. Since all 3 of these types are only shielded in Nightfalls i think its safe to say you will be ok.
-
maybe trow in a walker in a confined space :D
-
I think the boss will simply be another Kell, like Draksis, except he will be a LOT tougher, and will probably have a ton of ads protecting him. I think it would be cool if we fought him in some sort of Generator Room, with Lightning going off in random directions, anyone else agree?
-
I hate to think you are right, but you make good points.
