Grabbed all the ghosts over the weekend with the hope of having a leisurely read on the way to work that would fill in the gaps with regards to what's going on in Destiny.
Some of the things that jumped out whilst undertaking this mission...
Why? Why does Bungie go through the effort of actively hiding your story. I'm bewildered by the fact that quite a few someones at Bungie must have signed off on this as a great idea!
1) hidden ghosts to find in game - good idea
2) reward for finding ghosts is more story - bad idea
And the info on theses cards?
The information doesn't really hang together that well. I'd go so far as to to say it comes across as if each individual bungie employee was given a weekend task to write up a few paragraphs that was spacey and futuristic. In the end it reads as a disjointed, stilted, and stuttering mess.
...although the last word and thorn crossover is quite good. But even then there is a tendency to be overly cryptic. *sigh*
TLDR: don't bother with collecting the ghosts if you're looking for more story. Or if you do, be prepared to be disappointed.

Edited by DankB3ar101: 12/29/2014 3:26:02 PMI dont have all the details, but I have read the original writer parted ways with bungie half way through the destiny project so that could be a huge part of the disconnect. I agree with all your points. when comparing Destiny story quality with a MASS EFFECT or Dragon age in my opinion it is week!!!! I do love the game though
