its not up to bungie, it depends on microsoft and sony working together and they are rivals so fat chance.

you do realize that it depends on microsoft and sony actually taking the time and money to build a new database so the 2 consoles have a shared server right? even for microsoft thats a waste of money when they can just not bother and let the next game be next gen only and that solves the problem right there. wanting cross platform between old and new consoles when new game for the old consoles probably will stop releasing this year with only a few rare spattering of games coming out for the old ones next year its not a very wise business plan. i mean if bungie used their own servers for the game sure i can see it already being done by now, but its not and all 4 consoles have their own server bases for old gen and different more updated ones for newer stuff. did you really think they would still update the old servers running old consoles so it could also run the new consoles? no they follow the rule of if its not broke don't fix it. i have another like five paragraphs of detailed reasons about why it wouldn't work due to the features of each console being ingrained into the way the servers function and handle the games and how it would cause so many issues it wouldn't be funny. but i digress.
