Hi All,
I have an idea and a very simple solution to an issue I feel is affecting a huge number of gamers relating to purple engrams and raid drops.
A lot of destiny's users are getting annoyed and upset about getting energy or shards when they want items(weapons or armour). Now last time I checked items break down in to energy or shards? So why not change this so you only get items (weapon or armour depending on the engram) from engrams and from certain checkpoints in the raids (when you kill Crota or atheon) you only get items (insert excitement).
If people want shards energy let them break down these items to get them but this at least gives a slightly higher chance of receiving something useful and I feel will please a lot of gamers. Leave chests as a way to still gain further energy and shards especially in Crotas end.
So in terms of rewards you might actual get something like everyone else on your fireteam when doing raids rather than the shards or energy you did not want or need. if you get something you already have? at least you can break it down for the shards you still probably didn't want or need :)
to explain in terms of the raid all im suggesting is that for the final drop energy/shards are removed from the final drop loot table rather like how the Vex is only available at this point on hard in vog. Please leave feedback you think this can be improved changed to something you would implement tell me? I believe that any good idea comes from a group of people brainstorming.
Gamers out there if you agree help me get this to somewhere bungie might actually read it. vote on the poll so they can see its something the community want.
I realize some of you might agree with just the engram point and some with just the raid point if this is the case agree but comment that you only agree with one part.
Thanks for all the comments questions critics and support so far.
Edit///Update/////////
Thanks for all your votes so far both positive and negative. If you agree with just one part please feel free to state you agree with just the engram or just the raid part. If you are one of those people saying well Bungie will never change it well you cant say I didnt try and you never know they are known for supporting what the community want.

Thanks for now any and all feedback good or bad is appreciated.

i think they should take mats off the loot table of an engram. either you get an engram or mats, not an engram that may contain an item or mats. its rare enogh that you see a purp engram, it just pisses you off more when it turns into a shard than not getting it at all.

It was more like that when they stated the Cryptarch would be more generous. The Cryptarch stopped being generous with the last game update right around when the DLC hit. I think they reinserted the old Cryptarch code...

This is a great plan and I really hope bungie sees it.

Edited by Blocksystem: 12/30/2014 11:40:08 PMLet chests keep their mats, but there should be points where you are guaranteed items. ^ In my personal opinion, at least.

Its like you guys think destiny doesn't know how to give more loot. Like they're " how could we increase the amount of loot to give them" "uh, idk". Lol They have it the way they want it.

Edited by Demon By Desire: 12/31/2014 8:05:42 PMNo. You have to see the obvious conflict between what you and the developers want. They want it to take weeks to months for you to get the items you want. They do that by making the less desired (although still useful) items more common. This way you get rewards, and still have a chance at winning big, but normally just get the consolation prize.

I think there should be 'gear' checkpoints yes.

Edited by GilgAmesh1957: 12/31/2014 6:10:01 PMActually Crota's Raid armor drops quite fine for most of players,I have all my three characters full dressed up with Raid armor,I just need three Radiant shards to hit 32 ( 68 radiant energies in the vault, and not yet level 4 with Eris unfortunately)

I think as much as I hate RNG, nah. It's the raid. It's not supposed to give you all the raid gear you want in a week. The raid isn't for everybody (based on gear AND skill). Now I'd admit, I freakin hated wanting to get the vex, but after a months worth of raiding I finally got it. Soon you shall be rewarded as well.

After 12 Titan Crota runs, I'm still missing my chest piece and helmet. I agree

In general RNG sucks that someone can complete the raid [insert huge number here] times and be missing a key peice, whereas someone else can complete once and be higher level!

If the best gear was easy to get them you lose the thrill of the hunt aspect to the game which is way more appealing than running around with the best gear. When it's random you never know what can happen.
