Does anyone else think these forums are dying from the inside?
I used to come here everyday and see what people are saying. But lately I just don't even want to come here anymore. There are just so many entitled people complaining about silly things. Even in the posts that are positive the people here are just rude and say stupid things. Don't get me wrong, there are some great posts here, but they are just being drowned out by all the childish negativity around here. I guess I'll be sticking with Reddit for now.

I know sometimes people can get a little heavy-handed with forum moderation but that would be better than sifting through these thoughtless insults and hate, hoping to find something helpful or interesting. They should just delete posts where it's clear someone is being intentionally abusive, and start suspending and banning folks from the forum. It would be a full time job though.

1 ReplyI actually think the forums are slowly getting better. I find myself having more in depth debates rather then just name calling. I think alot of the bad apples are moving on. Just in time for the Christmas noobs

Yeah. The community is toxic. Most people who whine do so without making an attempt to give constructive criticism. Most people who defend usually do so from a rabid fanboy perspective, disregarding anything beyond the scope of Destiny itself, ignoring all current issues within the industry and being completely blind to examples and standards set by other developers, In between that, you have a manner of all types of cliché internet assholes. Overly sensitive tumblr vaginas. Huge raging MRA/PUA/#GG/RoK asshole dickweeds. Typical bad-taste trolls. Feeble internet badass tough guys. etcetcetc. Every once in awhile you will come across a reasonable level-headed person. I cannot tell if this community is toxic, or if its just the internet in general that is toxic.

(Not my fault im in another time zone) And about 92% Inmediatly labeled me as Christmas noob. 6% thought i was trolling and only around 2% actually answered me in a polite way. Kinda sad really. Anyway, im happy to see people are noticing this problem as well :)

Usually every topic is someone crying about not having a certain weapon/armor What weapon should be nerfed usually because they got owned by it or can't seem to get one They demand that xur sells them some of the best weapons in game Demand that raids/weeklies give them what they want and not the RANDOM loot that it says it will give them Cry about how much they hate destiny but yet still play and post on forums Complain about not getting good raid stuff after cheesing the entire raid and saying they are entitled to everything good! Complain that they didn't get the vex after the 2nd time running VOG on hard. Cry cry cry .... That's all that's on hear. Little crybabies who have never been told NO and only know how to throw a tantrum when they don't get what they want.

No one cares to help others out in a respectful manner. It always end up with name calling and stat bashing. Or people complaining for nerfs ect. ect.

I only come to these forums during work hours. Other than that, I don't bother. Being nice around here has its limits. Too many kids (young and old) with the power of anonymity to say what they feel without considering the weight of their words. It's a shame how positive threads will just die in a blink of eye. But "Ask Me Anything", "F Bungie", "God I'm suing Bungie for a loot system I've known about for some time" and such will stay up top for the longest. Especially that long face dude who says he hated this game but now writes stupid weird stories about Destiny characters and somehow became forum famous amongst the kids. Oh well...
