when you activate your super you get extra elemental armor so that is how he most likely survived(my guess anyway)

Not exactly. That guy probably had the perk Unstoppable, which does grant damage reduction when using FoH. So yes, he had extra armor, but not by default.

Actually, Titans will survive without Unstoppable, I check after each time this happens to me

That depends on armor. I've one-shot some Titans and had others survive. If they go full armor, they can survive tripmine grenades too. It sucks.

I guess I'm just unlucky enough to run into every full armor spec'd Titan then :).

Hm... strange, I could have sworn that people have taken me out mid-leap with other supers.
