I am glad Xur didn't have the Gjallarhorn, here's why.
Ok, so let's start with the basic logic everybody already understands.
1) Xur sells Gjallarhorn
2) Everybody is happy and buys Gjallarhorn
3) People spend the weekend upgrading Gjallarhorn
4) By Tuesday, everyone has an upgraded Gjallarhorn- at least with Wolfpack Rounds.
Sounds good so far, right?
Well, let's continue.
5) Weekly Heroic/Nightfall- both jokes, people just use Gjallarhorn and slaughter the boss/the adds quickly and painlessly.
6) VoG - groups kill the Templar instantly, groups kill Atheon within 1-2 time's vengeance. So VoG is a joke.
7) Crota's End- Gjallarhorn on shriekers, every group gets hidden chest free (wasn't hard anyways). Gjallarhorn at Deathsinger, wizards dead in 30 seconds, another 30 seconds shriekers are dead, another 30 seconds to a minute and Deathsinger is dead. People use Gjallarhorn to instantly take down Crota's shield, and use Gjallarhorn on adds+oversoul. Crota fight gets even easier.
8) Vanguard Tiger/Roc - More Gjallarhorn spam, more instant killing bosses.
9) Daily Heroics - these were already pretty easy, made even easier with infinite Gjallarhorns.
Clarification: so now Everybody has Gjallarhorn, it's not special any more, everything in the game becomes a joke. Bungie is either forced to nerf Gjallarhorn or make everything in the game 5 times harder. New players would be angry because they missed the opportunity, and many will stop playing/not buy the game. Nobody has any reason to use an exotic other than Gjallarhorn unless its something like the Hawkmoon, Suros, or Mythoclast. Game is unbalanced, and the end result will be Gjallarhorn being ruined for everyone - or some other unhappy result.
[b]Tl;Dr: Game unbalanced, not fun, Gjallarhorn gets nerfed after a week/everything gets crazy health+damage buffs and everyone is sad.[/b]

It makes no sense that people would stop playing the game if they have the best weapon, it actually gives more incentive to play. If you own a Lambo would you never drive it after the first week?

I would never use it on Croats sheild, takes it down too fast. And if everyone is using it then it's just a waste of rockets.

3 RepliesI love all the people that have the Gjallarhorn and think they can try to dictate wether Xur sells it or not The point is he should sell it again, just like he did before at the same price. If people feel that the gun is so OP that it would be nerfed then I'm sure Bungie will nerf it That however isn't the players problem and they should be given another opportunity to buy it It's quite self centred of people to only want it to themselves, because it not only helps out the user but the team as the whole. And I've said it before, I think the guys that do have one are just scared their weapon will become redundant or they won't feel as special, which unfortunately isn't Bungies problem, or other players

Honestly I think they won't let Xur sell it for one reason, to keep players playing. It gives players a reason to play. People will keep playing till they get the mythical Gjallarhorn. I could care less if they sold it but if they did that would make them lose players because of the fact that every player would have one. Meaning, they finally got the weapon they've been hoping to get for forever. And then the play time of multiple players will go down and Activision wouldn't want that. They want the play time to go up, how else is this game gonna last "ten years" like they're hoping it will. Just my theory though. More power to the player though.. Hopefully Xur isn't a total dick next weekend. Happy hunting Guardians.

I've never understood what the fuss is over a computer generated rocket launcher is all about. Do I have one, yes. I've had 3 at one time. Do I use it? Well yes, exspecailly when i've had just about enough of bungie's retarded splash damage . Me personally, I think the weaponsmith should sell it 24/7 . It's complete lunacy the way people use a computer generated object as a status symbol. In game with a loot system that is like a vegas slot machine.

I got a total of three G-Horns. First one I have no clue. Can't remember. Second from Nightfall forgot which one. And my third came from Crota when it didn't pop up on my screen. I have no complaints. I wasn't here when Xur sold G-Horn the first week or whatever. But I do agree on the matter of how many would have G-Horn if Xur sold it. It would be overused like Suros then get a little or big nerf.

The only people who would leave or "spam" the g-horn are those that don't care to play the game and are just there to waste time or aren't fans. People like me that do the night fall and heroic 10 times a week any way it won't affect me either way. Will I use it on athion in hard? yes. Does it matter? No

Yet that's the thing about Xur; if he sells an Exotic, it's not special. The point of Xur depends on a players luck in the game, it's either a way to get easy exotics, or for unlucky players (me) it's a way to be guaranteed an exotic. You also have to look at the fact that Xur already has sold Gjyallerhorn

6 RepliesThe only way Xur should sell it is for 100 coins, THAT'S RIGHT ONE HUNDRED COINS!!!! Keeps it very difficult to get an it will remain as a hard to obtain 'special' exotic. I don't have it by the way...

One problem I see in this argument is that bungie will already be making this game harder whether or not xur sells gjallarhorn. They've done it already with raising the level on the nightfall, heroic and daily and I don't see them ceasing that trend for the foreseeable future. As for the issue of gjallarhorn no longer being special, it can only get better if more people have it. It's one of those few exotics where everyone can benefit from having it.

I am one of those people....who used to say "its ok you dont need a Gjallarhorn" or "My Truth does well enough".......that is ofcourse until i got my Gjallarhorn last week.......people who say what was quoted above.......do not know and underestimate the F*** OUT OF THIS WEAPON!!!!!!!! i got though 3 strikes in 15 mins (minus the time in orbit and so on) with 3 Gjallarhorns and heavy ammo synth) F*** ME where has this gun been all my life......it is literally an easy modifier to any mission. (I solo'd the whole Xyor Strike with this baby)

Truely no reason to nrrf an exotic to begin with, screaming balance is not an answer as that level of gun should tip the balance. More so the criers are the ones that refuse to use said gun and since it kills them to quickly they want it nerfed. Alot of people have list interest because of the constant calling for nerfs. I dont have it and if it gets nerfed ill be quite ticked because if i eventually get its not the weapon it should be do to the moaning of others. Your not the devs and have no clue what was intended and what was not.

I personally feel that as soon as enough people use it in PVP, it'll get nerfed. That's why I'm glad Xur hasn't sold it

It's a top tier weapon... have you not played any sort of multiplayer pve game if your team is equipped with the best of the best of course you will steam roll bosses that's your reward for obtaining and upgrading one of the best weapons in the game...

2 RepliesHow I got my Gally. Boring ass weekday, nothing to do. Getting pretty tired of Destiny so I decided to just max out my Vanguard rep on my Titan for mats. I usually leave if the strike is Valus Ta'aurc, Omnigul, or Black Garden, because I usually get even more bored and will probably resort to going afk and freeloading. But, this time I decide to stay. Why not? I have nothing better to do. Getting pretty sick of this repetitive BS. So, I'm killing the three guards mid strike and I melee a psion, and I see a legendary engram pop up on my screen. I hesitate and get really excited. I finish four more strikes. Archon priest four -blam!-ing times in a row, and a special weapon legendary engram drops. I usually wait to turn in my engrams to the cryptarch when I max out my rep, but I get SUPER anxious. I turn in my blue engrams first, rare shit of course. Then the special. Two to the morgue. Ok, I can live with that. Have all the exotic specials anyway. One left. Legendary. Heavy. Weapon. Engram. I take a deep breath, and with as much confidence as I could muster, I simultaneously press X to decrypt my engram and scream "GJALLARHORNNNNNNNN!!!" The screen is loading. The blank square rotating on the right hand side. "New Grimoire Card Acquired." Guess what I get. A mother. -blam!-ing. GJALLARHORN. I get so wet, secreting sweat and bodily fluids from every pore of my body know to man. I'm drenched as if I just came out of the swimming pool. I'm teeming in tears. I finally got it. After playing Destiny since the midnight launch and short 5 strange coins when XUR sold it. I have one of my most wanted exotics. Bless you RNGesus.

People want to nerf a pve weapon lol So what if it gets too easy to kill bosses, that's what it's for. Would Bungie nerf something for being used the way it was supposed to? Probably....

Gjallarhorn needs a nerf anyway. It does around 3 rockets worth of damage in one rocket with its ridiculously OP Wolfpack rounds. The only reason people like it is because its OP in PvE where it can't piss anyone off, whereas in PvP it's just another big boom. I hope it gets nerfed because it just does too much damage. But still. I need that gun and I won't rest until I get it. [spoiler]I don't hope it gets nerfed[/spoiler]
