I am glad Xur didn't have the Gjallarhorn, here's why.
Ok, so let's start with the basic logic everybody already understands.
1) Xur sells Gjallarhorn
2) Everybody is happy and buys Gjallarhorn
3) People spend the weekend upgrading Gjallarhorn
4) By Tuesday, everyone has an upgraded Gjallarhorn- at least with Wolfpack Rounds.
Sounds good so far, right?
Well, let's continue.
5) Weekly Heroic/Nightfall- both jokes, people just use Gjallarhorn and slaughter the boss/the adds quickly and painlessly.
6) VoG - groups kill the Templar instantly, groups kill Atheon within 1-2 time's vengeance. So VoG is a joke.
7) Crota's End- Gjallarhorn on shriekers, every group gets hidden chest free (wasn't hard anyways). Gjallarhorn at Deathsinger, wizards dead in 30 seconds, another 30 seconds shriekers are dead, another 30 seconds to a minute and Deathsinger is dead. People use Gjallarhorn to instantly take down Crota's shield, and use Gjallarhorn on adds+oversoul. Crota fight gets even easier.
8) Vanguard Tiger/Roc - More Gjallarhorn spam, more instant killing bosses.
9) Daily Heroics - these were already pretty easy, made even easier with infinite Gjallarhorns.
Clarification: so now Everybody has Gjallarhorn, it's not special any more, everything in the game becomes a joke. Bungie is either forced to nerf Gjallarhorn or make everything in the game 5 times harder. New players would be angry because they missed the opportunity, and many will stop playing/not buy the game. Nobody has any reason to use an exotic other than Gjallarhorn unless its something like the Hawkmoon, Suros, or Mythoclast. Game is unbalanced, and the end result will be Gjallarhorn being ruined for everyone - or some other unhappy result.
[b]Tl;Dr: Game unbalanced, not fun, Gjallarhorn gets nerfed after a week/everything gets crazy health+damage buffs and everyone is sad.[/b]

I do not have one myself, I love my upgraded dragons breath. I completely agree tho. If everyone has one it is not that awesome anymore, tho I would like one I do not really need one.

Everyone has ghorn means I get through raids and strikes much quicker.

xur sold it once. I wish he would sell it again. sick of being the only one with it in random pugs.

The whole idea is to gear up so as to make content easier, I wish everyone had gally so I could get stuff done quicker.

I do not have a gally I almost have 2 32's and have been grinding for this shit forever... Just have not gotten it yet... I want it soooooo bad!!! But I 100% agree with you. I want to get mine dropped somewhere. Selling it would ruin the game. He should have icebreaker though, everyone. Needs one of those.

Well it only takes my raid group 1-2 times through the time stream to take out Atheon already.

Its what an exotic heavy weapon should be, utterly devastating and awesome when you have the ammo to use it. That being said many people opt for another exotic choice in order to get more bang for your buck overall. Personally I'd rather see more top tier options so that no single weapon becomes the must have one. There's only a small amount of weapons that everyone either loves or loves to hate, so rather than swinging the Nerf bat, how about bungie elevates sub par exotics.

5 RepliesSo the ghallarhorn makes the game too easy. You want the game to be easy for you and harder for everyone else? Sound logic indeed. Maybe they need to consider why that weapon outperforms everything in the game by such a large margin. That makes sense to me.

You can easily kill atheon in 2 times vengeance without anyone using g horns on hard

Hunger of Crota does all of the stuff you mentioned that the Ghorn does... I'm not saying it's as good but a full team with HoC can do all those things as well, it may just take one extra rocket overall

I don't want Xur to sell Gjallarhorn because then people would just use it all the time and totally disregard other good exotics like icebreaker

I agree 200%, he should never stop ghorn or Ice breaker. It would be nearly game ruining.

As much as I want a Gjalahorn, it's a game breaking weapon. I don't think Xur will ever sell it or Ice Breaker again because of how stron they are.

I don't have a Gjallarhorn and I think I deserve to have one because of the amount of time I've spent looking for one... But I don't think Xur should sell it because of everything OP wrote about. C'mon guys, be logical.

4 RepliesNightfall/Weekly is easy with solar burn, don't matter if you got ghorn or not. Tempar is also easy with hunger of crota or truth or some other 300+ rocket launcher. I and my team beat Atheon on hard with 2 teleports and no one have ghorn of us. So it don't make a difference I think..
