I think that's a fun idea but how useful would a healer be, really? We rarely have trouble with the strikes, our health and shield self regens as long as you can stay out of the fight for 3 seconds, raids are done in a 6 man team and if each member is at least a decent player, there will be very few deaths, which you can be revived out of. And speaking of which, deaths do not really punish you in this game, save for the nightfall and raid, to a certain extent. Just to clarify im not against your idea, i think its great to have a support-focused subclass, but just questioning the utility of it.

  • I mean... health can be 'distributed' via over shield on special hit... seems feasible . The special's could be adds HP or starts HP regen on ally hit. Special could be a channeled heal much like the Medic gun from TF2

  • EDIT : I can see it being useful in PvP tho.

  • Then how would you not see it useful in PVE?

Combat in PvE is frantic and fast-paced, and mobs usually swarm you if you're not in a good position. If you were to focus on healing teammates, you would most likely end up dead because i don't think you can heal everyone faster than enemies can DPS you. An example of this would be the abyss section in Crota's End, or the final room in Omnigul's strike. Unless the healing ability can be used from a distance, i don't see it being useful for PvE. Perhaps something like the sunsinger's solar grenade which you can toss, and provides a few seconds of healing when you are close to its AOE. Plus, titans already have a sorta 'healing' ability with their armor of light bubble.
