Destiny isn't an mmo and there's a reason there's no healer, Bungie didn't want ppl to have set roles, they want everyone to take part in everything, be it holding a relic, hitting a boss or completing objecties, they didn't want ppl to be set to tank, healer and dps.

I don't really understand why Bungie chose this, before the Vog was "Patched" I loved designating myself to hold the relic! I love that thing, it's so fun and inventive! I like having a set role, but the healer in picturing, while does heal teammates, is not so linear. You still have normal grenades, and a normal melee on your character (however you just punch regularly, no active benefit when punching an enemy with melee energy full). Arguing that Bungie doesn't want a set role is most easily seen when looking at the defender titan. What I'm doing here is basically similar to the defender, but arguably for a different reason.

Making any character have the ability to heal will set them into the healing role, every raid healers will be forced to sit back and heal people, that's exactly what Bungie doesn't want. It doesn't matter if they can melee or run or do anything they will still be set in stone, look at wow, healers can of course attack but more often than that they are sat at the back healing teammates, stuck in the same role. If you want something more like an mmo go play an mmo, destiny is not and will never be an mmo, at it's heart it's an FPS.
