In other MMORPGs, healers are useful because the tank and everyone else has 10k+ hp, with bosses meleeing for around 1-2k and doing an AoE that does 2k to all. Not to mention adds that periodically spawn. The health regen in these games is also slow when in the midst of battle, making healers necessary as potions have cooldown times. Destiny isn't like that. You have a bar of health that regens after a few seconds of receiving no damage. On top of that, the health we have is significantly small. There would be no point.
There is also no tank, damage dealer, or crowd control class, so why would a healer be in this game. This is NOT an MMORPG, but a FPS with RPG aspects, just not raid/dungeon mechanics with a party of 8 typically requiring 1 tank, 5 damage dealers (some crowd control), and 2 healers. Destiny isn't that in depth.
Edit: There is no way, without drastic changes, that this could be possible. Everyone uses guns in this game... No swords, shields, staves, maces, etc... No diversity. Each of these things have different uses for the different classes. Sword and shield for tanks to get aggro, keep it, and absorb damge, staves for all out damage dealing with spells using mana, mace for physical damage dealing, etc...
