[edit: chose not to and got what I needed this week thankfully]
After a week of no new raid gear across my 3 characters, I'm very tempted to reroll one of them so I can raid again and hopefully hit 32.
I've not done it before and want to know what people think...
Downsides I can think of:
- reset/loss of skill tree
- loss of vendor ranks
- loss of +6/7 hours of my life
Still very tempted by the lure of another raid.
1) Reset Titan
2) Roll a hunter or warlock
3) Raid this week and again on Tuesday
4) Roll it back to a Titan
however, if hard mode comes out soon. Will probably have more chance of getting my last pieces of gear anyway assuming double drops!!
Tough decision
Help! Lol

People won't let you live it down here. I was accused once because I made my hunter not too long ago

You couldn't pay me to reset the progress on one of my guys let alone regrind that stuff. I'd advise you to just wait, but if you truly think it's worth it, go for it.

I have read some horrible advice in here. The fasted I have leveled a character is in 5 hours. You start the introduction to the story and then go straight into crucible. Crucible is faster and yields almost the same amount of xp. When the bounties become available make sure you go and get them. If you move any legendary from your vault to your character it will give you a bounty lead if the weapon has one. For example if I move the black hammer to my character and then back to my vault a bounty for 15 head shots with a sniper will appear. Once you reach level 10-15 start earth on hard and run past everything. Each mission can be finished in around 5 minutes because of your level. If you have a friend that can help get him to start the Mars missions for you since they give about 7000 xp per mission. Sorry the text is cluttered and I may have left something out but I am at work and in a hurry. If you have any questions or need help send me a message on XBL - LG Chaotic

Having to play the shitty story again. /:

How do you level up so fast?
-
I had one of each character, but realized that I just wasn't having fun playing them all, so I made a second of my main character instead. This allows me to share some gear, have a better chance of getting at least one character to max. level, and I'm not spending as much on Exotic armor since I can just "hand me down" some of the old stuff. Playing only two classes has seemed more fun and less of a grind to me. However, the downside to starting a new character are: 1. Having to level all the subclass abilities. 2. Having to level the Crucible, Vanguard, and Faction standings 3. Having to re-do the Eris missions (though a plus if you like them) 4. If in the future the class you deleted is changed for the better and you want to play it, you'll have to do all this over again.

Well I've been doing this on my hunter for quite a while now My tips are do it on your newest character Don't make it a chore, for example my rule is just do a planet a day and do the double bounties from Eris and the normal dude if your time zone/ other commitments allow for it If you can find someone to do it with you it makes the time go faster Don't struggle with the hard story missions, it ends up taking longer and not worth the extra xp Find something to watch on your phone or laptop for background noise, I got through a whole series of master chef haha Most importantly don't be too pissed off if you don't get anything, as long as you don't devote yourself to it you won't be overly pissed if you don't get what you want I can normally roll 2 or three hunters a week fairly comfortably, do Tuesday raid, weekly and nightfall, delete that day do earth and double bounties, Wednesday do moon and dbs, Thursday do Venus and dbs and you should be 20, then do raid, weekly and nightfall, delete and do Friday Saturday Sunday That way your getting in 5 raids, weeklies and nightfalls in each week. Increasing your chances to get exotics, materials, armour and raid primaries when hard raid comes out :) Sorry for long post, it really isn't that bad if you take it slowly

If you are going to delete make sure you delete the one you hate the most and make a duplicate of your main. Then just level him up as needed and keep two warlocks/hunters/titans and you will get gear and what you need quicker. Remember when giving checkpoints for VoG, you have to beat VoG till you can leave a checkpoint on that character.

I wanted one of each character..vault of glass era I made a second Hunter, deleted it for another titan, wound up deleting that to finally make a warlock, wound up deleting that but keeping the gear I had seeing I only got the warlock to 10 before getting bored, now I have a second Hunter.... Once I have the gear maxed on my hunter and titan, I'll be deleting the Hunter for a warlock most likely. It can suck but if you're gonna be playing it's worth doing.

I have 2 locks and a titan. I thought about adding another lock for a while. I just need a helmet. I am already 32 locks. Only have one piece for my titan. I do like my titan. And I could just always build another after I get my main helmet. Personally preference. I could really care less if these children on here get butt hurt. I bought this game and I will do as I please. I kicked a little prick from my nightfall the other day because he started talking about legit characters. I told him to go -blam!- himself and start over with the nightfall with some legits. Kinda made me feel good inside. Nice and warm and fuzzy. My money. My game. My way. Reroll that shit if you have the time.
-
Another downside of doing this now is that you can't just level up to 28 or whatever and do the crota raid, you have to re-do the eris missions to unlock it again and that is just beyond tedious imo. I'm leveling up my hunter for the first time and I'm so bored lol...
-
I'd just wait it out man, re rolling characters is fine but the loss of abilities isn't worth it to me
-
You lose your hours played count. I'm pushing a large number that would embarrass me so I was happy to reroll two of my characters.
-
I rolled a hunter wed night and pulled nothing from the raid and the nightfall... Good luck lol
-
The extra 6 energies and 2 shards is not worth the time.. If you aren't going to keep re leveling a character multiple times a week, I wouldn't do it.
-
3 attempts is plenty.

I don't know why you're using words like "reset" and "reroll" You're DELETING a character and creating an entirely new one. And that means you're deleting everything on it with it including marks/rep/exp and whatever else and started over from zero. Its that simple
