I took advantage of Bungies free 'Next Gen' upgrade offer from Xbox 360 to Xbox One (same for Ps3 to Ps4) and I couldn't be happier. In Australia game prices are pretty hight compared to overseas so buying digital often doesn't have a financial advantage as it would elsewhere but with this offer (ends 15th Jan I believe) it's like getting two games for the price of one. That aside with Xbox 360 when you buy digital content including DLC it gives you two licences to access that content. One to the console you downloaded it to and one to your game tag. This means that when a friend comes over, they can play on my main 360 and I can sign into my spare one in the computer room and we can play together without him buying the game. This works with other digital titles. The biggest advantage to this is that because Destiny uses cloud accounts for saving your guardian, your content is accessible on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One. I have my old 360 attached to a computer monitor in the computer room and surf the Web on the second monitor whenever I am grinding or if someone wants to use the TV in the lounge. Once I log into my Xbox One all content I gained on my 360 is there ready to use. I have a few friends on 360 I do nightfalls with and a team I raid with on Xbox One. If you are thinking about upgrading to 'Next Gen' sometime soon I recommend getting a digital copy of Destiny on 360 and redeeming the Xbox One copy online through xbox.com so when you an Xbox One you are ready to go.
