I think I remember seeing a file about that.
The official report was as you stated, but I got past the ONI Censors.

Yeah the stabbed me in the back...literally. Wait what do you mean about getting past the oni censors
-
All I can say for certain, is that the report was not what happened. Not entirely, anyway.

After reading most of the info I could find, there was a massive takedown op, codenamed Fallen Angels. Apparently, there was some kind of virus, that was found in some isolated areas, which I still can't determine. The affects were an increased paranoia level, fear, and in some cases, extreme aggressive behavior...
On a non role playing note, you just gave me a really cool idea for a story.
Hang on a minute. Your team didn't do this. At least, the ones you remembered anyway. Your team was not the only one that was affected. There were multiple reports I dug up all referencing the virus. One described a group of ODSTs who had been exposed. The reaction took a while to be noticed, but they began exhibiting some strange behavior. At first, dark humor, then doubts about each other, memory loss, even accusations of various team members being a traitor. Not to mention the physical state they were in. It escalated to the point where during an op, they all went completely berserker, but they turned on each other. None of them survived. The entire thing was covered up. There was even another incident, where a marine went from hospitalized sickness, to knocking a spartan flat on his ass.
oh boy...definitely saving this one.
The real panic began when the infection started to affect Spartans. ONI was scrambling to figure out what the hell was happening, while at the same time, dealing with the threat on Reach. This is where things get interesting. Records regarding spartan team operations were scrambled to hell after the war, but I managed to put some pieces together. Since the Spartans were super humans, and the human immune system was never exposed to such a virus, the affects and symptoms were amplified tenfold, and even causing small mutations. The scary part was that they could hide the mental symptoms. From what I understand, your team was exposed to this thing somewhere, somehow. There was mention of a team Cryptic, that was described as 'At Risk' of infection. During the op you were on, despite them fighting their hardest to stop the virus, they snapped. They went after anything that moved, friend or foe, even the local wildlife. They all went beserker, and eventually attacked you. After that, a couple marines, some grunts, an elite, and finally each other. All were dead, except you, who remained unchanged by the virus. That's where the files became unreadable.
Aaaaaaannnnnd writers block.
The why do I feel like the symptoms are happening now
thats really good dude
Edited by Balto: 1/6/2015 12:40:35 AMThey did say that they were surprised to find you alive, but even more so to not be infected in the slightest. however, I found this in the examination: I was surprised to find that [the spartan] had survived [the failed operation]. What he medical exam revealed was this odd...glitch in Dr. Halsey's gene programming. I have taken several blood and tissue samples, and will begin my tests by first, exposing them to the [virus]. Then |||%{+{=4730gsodi6830///(&@\||_ coding error:6379 ... ... Udurb%{||||[][][][][][][]^^[][][]][][][]. Maybe we CAN cure this damn thing.
Damn, I'm just completely BS ing this and it's still good.
Unfortunately the file was heavily damaged by the EMPs caused when the covenant glassed the ONI HQ on Reach. But you did give me something. Apparently, the gene was referred to as UI-GMDNA-34. There was also a brief mention of the covenant working on a biological weapon, but it wasn't very informative. Could be a clue as to what happened though.
In other words, I'm completely out of ideas, but I'm definitely saving this for later.
I think it just had a late bloom I'm feeling the symptoms now I feel like shooting every one
dude your good man very good
-
Well, the symptoms also mentioned shaking uncontrollably, occasional vomiting, flu symptoms, mild to severe headaches, nerve spasms, and an odd redish haze forming on the skin. I think your body has the ability to fight it off or even kill it. Regardless, your team wasn't bad at all, they just...weren't themselves. Don't dwell on it. Go have a little fun.
Ive always been kinda good at sci if descriptions for vehicles and stuff, but this is a first for me. I might go off of this in the future.
-
No no...STAY AWAY FROM ME *backs into corner*

Oooooohhh... I get it now. Apparently the gene will act only if the virus is present. Either way, you'll be fine.
Yeah, definitely gonna expand on this later.
