[You guys came up with so many great ideas. I really wish Bungie had a look at the comments here.]
Come on, Bungie, give us the freedom to choose whatever suits our style best and don't let those awesome weapons you've designed become obsolete. Actually, don't let the stunning Vault of Glass (best content in the game) be consumed by the darkness.
I believe that Raids and its weapons should always be the at level cap. More weapons to choose from, more content to play.
Weapons are mostly situational and mixing them is part of a successful strategy (it's fun too). Having more to choose from just add to the game.
Edit: I'm not suggesting to automatically turn them into 331 attack weapons. Just give us a way to upgrade them to the current attack cap. I bet you guys can implement it in a sensible way.
Why would we go against the idea of having more relevant weapons at our disposal? It's like saying "I'd rather have less weapons, less content". Let's not be passively attached to an old format. Destiny is something new with immense potential.

Some great comments Bungie should pay some attention to:

"But what they decide to do with VOG weapons speaks to the future of the current raid weapons as well. Right now, there is an expiration date on my Fatebringer and that sucks, supremely, but now that same feeling isn't too far for my Black Hammer either. I'd like to carry these weapons with me as long as I am playing Destiny. Yeah, future weapons maybe better and I end up scraping these guns one day but I'd like to be able to decide for myself versus having no choice in the matter. Just my take on the situation".

"The problem lies within the way they have designed the upgrading system. They are going to have to re work how you upgrade weapons and armor. Yeah they could just update the VOC gear up to 32 and 331 but what happens when the House of Wolves comes out? Then they are going to have to update both Dark Below and VOC all over again the prevent them from being obsolete. They need to just make it were the players can choose the path they want to take. You choose what armor and weapons you want to upgrade to the highest rank. I mean make it a difficult task. I wouldn't mind the challenge and it would inspire players to be more creative with their characters rather than every single person wearing the same gear".

"Upgrading older legendary weapons could finally give a use for the Gunsmith beyond buying ammo and weapons at a low level. Not to mention it would help provide a larger variety of "good" weapons so that we would have more things to work towards. After all the various DLC's are done, just imagine how varied the weapon and armor selection would be. (Speaking of which, vendors should be able to upgrade armor as well.)"

Bump...... I agree and believe that DLC should "ADD" to the game that you purchased however in this cast Destiny has taken a away by far the best activity in the game (VOG) and rendered it obsolete and now with the next DLC we are destined to lose both Dark Below and VOG. Last week the nightfall was the Omnigul Strike from Dark Below so if I didn't buy the DLC I don't get a nightfall..........I have done nothing wrong and you have taken away from the game I have already purchased? This game will not live on unless you keep VOG and other activities relevant.......for example, I will have 2 characters at 32 this week and I am one pair of boots away from a 3rd level 32 and I basically play the game only on Tuesdays now. I would have more reasons to keep playing if I had more relevant activities to choose from. Bump

Had there not of been vender gear that skipped you straight to 31, I would of been ok with VOG staying as it is. It would still be a stepping stone on the path to 32. Something everyone would of still needed to do to earn their rite of passage to end game. But as it stands, it one fell swoop they rendered it pretty pointless. It's content that you have little incentive to play other then the fact that you need something to do until reset or shard farming. There is something not quite right with that, I still enjoy Vog but many friends have stopped logging on at all to raid, Crota is solo'd by everyone in their lunch times. That is a sad state of affairs. It would only of taken a simple change to allow us to buy upgrades to vault weapons/armour to keep it still relevant.

Yes. This is a good topic, i think raid weapons and armor should be given the option to be re-upgraded. I really like the VoG gear and how unique it looks, it a be a shame for it to become useless. Maybe after you get to 32 you are given an option to re-upgrade it, thats just an idea.

Yes, I agree, since raid guns are better weapons than most exotics, and besides, the Vault is much more challenging than Crota anyway.

I disagree, fatebringer is arguably one of the better weapons in the game, I see very little reason not to use it. Which is why destiny won't allow you to upgrade it, bungie wants us to crave the newer weapons so that we continue to play. If we used fatebringer till the end of destiny 3 then why would we keep playing. But If fatebringer could no longer kill enemies at level 40+ then why would anyone use it? Meaning that people would have to use new weapons, meaning more playtime to acquire.

All Raid weapons should be upgraded. Raid gear should stay as is so new raids are where the best gear is found

bump...give poor banshee44 something to do..upgrade legendaries. and the vex..
