Warlock self-res is a crutch for the weak.
Seriously.
What use is it outside of PvP?
That's right - people who struggle to stay alive can have a second chance at dying again. Give me a Warlock whose build is based around staying alive any day of the week. A Warlock using self-res is basically waiting to die. They're holding the rest of the team back. They don't generate orbs unless they die. They don't activate supers unless they die. They're basically a drain on DPS and team strategy/cohesion. If you're a Warlock with self-res, you're letting your team-mates down.
When recruiting for Raids, I ask people if they use self-res and then turn them down if they say yes. I want my Warlocks to be team-players, not people concerned only about themselves.
It's not really any use in PvP either.
Edit: apologies if I've stopped replying to someone in particular, this forum makes it impossible to look through everything and keep up with every conversation.
Edit 2: Next week on Ackter Provokes: The Gjallarhorn and how if it was suddenly removed, 99% of players would no longer be able to beat anything!

Idiot troll post. Go home. No one cares.

Says the guy with sunsinger equipped on his warlock if you hate self res so much why did you use it last time you were a warlock
-
"Edit 2: Next week on Ackter Provokes: The Gjallarhorn and how if it was suddenly removed, 99% of players would no longer be able to beat anything!" I am really afraid of how true this is.

Looks like someone took a shit in your hashtag flakes this morning.

I can understand the revive being a problem in the crota raid but what about VoG? Nobody's perfect you know. There will be mistakes from time to time. What about nightfall clutch? How is that letting your teammates down in any case? From my point of view, the Self-res is only good in VoG and nightfall situations. Be grateful that a Sunsinger has your back at all.
My group of friends are just fine shooting our way through situations rather than using our supers. Supers to us is to strike hard on a target or a last ditch effort.
Edited by DeusFever: 2/25/2015 9:06:39 PMAlso crutches for the weak: - Titan bubbles (nice tent, babies!) - Gjallahorn (having trouble aiming, wuss!) - Ice Breaker (children don't look for ammo) - Level 32 gear (if it's not sold by the Vanguard, it's for wimps like you!) - Primaries with elemental damage (you think you're too good to switch your special weapons in nightfall, dontcha' poindexter!) - Actual crutches (I hope you feel better soon. At least you still play "Destiny")
-
This may be just me but I hate holding on to a super unless it's in nightfall or raid, then it's more of an insurance then a crutch
-
Let see, so I can help kill the over soul I just generated. So I can generate a shit ton of orbs for the people who need them to regain health. There are plenty of reasons to use self res. Who are they a drain on the dps of the team? If anything they help the team with self res because they are not leaving people to try and do stuff with less members alive.
-
Not a crutch when you are the past alive in the nightfall and need to revive someone
-
Edited by thewiz248: 2/25/2015 8:53:52 PMSo when atheon has a sliver of health and someone dies and only 3 remain, you don't want a warlock to self res and NOT have your team have to repeat it. Ok have fun bro te only person on your raid team.

For hard raids and nightfall, it's still being a team player resurrecting yourself. Bungie made the class for a reason.
-
Fireborn is a brilliant ability for a Sunsinger. Using it I have saved wipes in Nightfalls and Raids. On more than one occasion I have used it to get across the first bridge in Crotas End. I don't think anyone in my party has ever said using it is detrimental to the team.
-
I use self res for night falls and the crota fight, and when I use sunsinger in pvp, I use radiant skin, and I generate orbs at the beginning of the fight and when I need health because I use light beyond nemesis for the orb regeneration perk on HM cause I have nothing better at the moment. I use void walker for the whole raid except crota, because I don't wanna be the guy that causes a wipe
-
I would rather have a good player with 2 lives than 2 bad players with one life each. :p
-
Your dumb. <<< this self resing warlock saved my fireteam from wiping in nightfall twice last night and dill got most kills. <<< this self resing warlock got 5 Top score games in a row in iron banner last night. And to make it even more of a -blam!- you, I used bad juju. Play style does NOT equal skill. All supers are equally as useful in any situation, as long as someone knows how to use it.
-
It's for reviving your team when the Titans and the hunter's die.
-
wow you're funny. move along kids, nothing to see here.
-
All supers are OP. Arc blade wiping enemies in seconds dispersed within a room. Fist of panic and nova panic to remove group of enemies at once. Etc etc. so are you also saying ward of dawn is a crutch as well?whiny whiny people.

This must be your first mmo.

I rather be a little bitch then failing the mission lol
