Warlock self-res is a crutch for the weak.
Seriously.
What use is it outside of PvP?
That's right - people who struggle to stay alive can have a second chance at dying again. Give me a Warlock whose build is based around staying alive any day of the week. A Warlock using self-res is basically waiting to die. They're holding the rest of the team back. They don't generate orbs unless they die. They don't activate supers unless they die. They're basically a drain on DPS and team strategy/cohesion. If you're a Warlock with self-res, you're letting your team-mates down.
When recruiting for Raids, I ask people if they use self-res and then turn them down if they say yes. I want my Warlocks to be team-players, not people concerned only about themselves.
It's not really any use in PvP either.
Edit: apologies if I've stopped replying to someone in particular, this forum makes it impossible to look through everything and keep up with every conversation.
Edit 2: Next week on Ackter Provokes: The Gjallarhorn and how if it was suddenly removed, 99% of players would no longer be able to beat anything!

Then why do most teams want a warlock with self res?
-
Absolute nonsense. I helped two randoms from the tower a few days ago when I received a random invite. Turns out they wanted me to help with the weekly heroic. I thought why not, it's nice to be nice! Turns out if it wasn't for my self res (on more than one occasion) then we would have all died. They kept dying leaving me to smash Omnigul alone. I thought to myself, -blam!- it I'll try to revive one of them (both of which are cheesing in that little daft room, their reasons still elude me) so that we can speed this shit up a bit. Bottom line, I ended with 270 odd kills and not one of them got more than 100 kills! If it want for self res then they muppets would have had me fight her alone and it would have taken a lot longer than it should have! THEY WERE BOTH LV 31s WTF!

Voidwalker is definitely the way to go IMO
-
Yeah I don't even use self res anymore. Eventually I was like "why am I even using this when I can be a flaming tank that throws grenades or a void bombing machine?"
-
Obviously you don't understand you can use super to throw more grenades to generate orbs u noob
-
Every single one of you self res haters has been saved in a Nightfall or Raid more than once by a Warlock and you know it. Some of my best 'Halo' moments have come via self res. You guys are just mad that Warlocks are the only ones sitting high and mighty on top of the ledge after round three of the Confluxes. It's a selfless team saver and you know it. Hence why it even exists. Grow up and play together as a team.
-
1. Saves you in nightfalls and weekly 2. If there's orb around the grenades can be pretty handy. 3. You can play more reckless and get more kills because you have that lifeline 4. Everyone's down you mess up on the revive self res you are back again 5. You are a scrub haha
-
You don't even have a 32 Get good scrub
-
I switch from time to time from dps to support I save the Rez for boss fights in case of wipe I might be the only one That could save us from such then outside I use mt double nade spam to kill Large groups or dish out Some damage
-
This coming from someone who has very minimal kills with your void walker super, and a very low orbs dropped rate
-
Voidealker is the way to go
-
Yes, the extra armor when using radiance is better.
-
I would of thought giving up our supers and not using them until a critical moment is pretty selfless... I don't rely solely on self-res, it's not like it regenerates in seconds, I just play smarter and use my guns wiser to help my team. If something goes wrong, especially in a nightfall, ill use my super to prevent restarting. As for raids... Not being able to revive during hard mode, I think being able to using self-res is pretty good.
-
Get gud nub. You'll be cupping our balls when we save the day
-
You know what is a crutch for the weak? Complaining about how other people play the game.
-
You're a special kind of stupid, aren't you?
-
Agree,good players don't need second chances(B
-
You're on XBox hahahahahahaha!

So basically warlocks spawn the most orbs out of all characters. Plus it's takes experience to play with a warlock u stupid idiot. I hate people like u. Let people play with watever character they wanna play with. And go fu** urself. Every day I see people posting and sayin shit about a character and this is getting annoying. So piss of and I'm pretty sure that warlocks that played with u are idiots like u mr

I LOVE THE TASTE OF CHEESE
-
Seriously, i laugh at any warlock that uses self res in pvp. There is no single -blam!-ing point in doing so
-
This is the only reason Warlocks are useful. Outside of the Raid, it's better to be a Titan or Hunter.
-
Self-res lets warlocks play a more aggressive play style. Once we die we become passive like everyone else hiding behind something.
-
If everyone wipes, they don't. That's useful as hell. My main is Hunter but I know for a act that they're useful.
-
Considering most raids center around not dying, I'd say self-rez is fine. It is certainly better to not die in the first place but no one can guarantee you that. DPS comes from rockets + snipers, not necessarily from supers; they're more for clearing mobs which a rocket or grenade can easily replace. I play with randoms quite a bit and it is reassuring to have warlocks that can self-rez. In random groups, there isn't much team strategy/cohesion anyways lol...I'd say dying lets your team down more than anything else.
-
If it bothers you so much than make your own groups and just don't recruit any sun singer warlocks, there you go problem solved
