Warlock self-res is a crutch for the weak.
Seriously.
What use is it outside of PvP?
That's right - people who struggle to stay alive can have a second chance at dying again. Give me a Warlock whose build is based around staying alive any day of the week. A Warlock using self-res is basically waiting to die. They're holding the rest of the team back. They don't generate orbs unless they die. They don't activate supers unless they die. They're basically a drain on DPS and team strategy/cohesion. If you're a Warlock with self-res, you're letting your team-mates down.
When recruiting for Raids, I ask people if they use self-res and then turn them down if they say yes. I want my Warlocks to be team-players, not people concerned only about themselves.
It's not really any use in PvP either.
Edit: apologies if I've stopped replying to someone in particular, this forum makes it impossible to look through everything and keep up with every conversation.
Edit 2: Next week on Ackter Provokes: The Gjallarhorn and how if it was suddenly removed, 99% of players would no longer be able to beat anything!

Or a life boat for a failing team
-
You must've found out that there's a trophy for popping off 30 supers in a match. I bet you wet your panties every time that super bar gets filled. I also bet you're the dude always yelling on the mic, "revive me bro!"
-
Go take the highest DPs super against a sunsinger with fusion grenades. On one target, sunsinger wins hands down. Sorry to burst your bubble. Yes totally agree if someone only saves there super, its a total waste. But that goes for all classes. Use it if only to make orbs. It recharges.
-
The other abilities are not very useful.
-
There is gear that drops orbs on enemy crits. Sunsingers can save their revive for when it's necessary and be creating orbs without using their supers. If they're killing a bunch of enemies, what does it matter if they're using their weapons or their super to do it? I've personally had the most kills in my fireteam plenty of times running fireborne...I actually die less with foreborne on because I'm careful with it and use it as a last resort for the team and not just a waste of a super if I die. It's all about how you choose to play the classes and use the abilities.
-
i kinda agree ive stoped useing it for the most part i do use it in nightfalls tho and about your 2nd edit i like the hunger more than the horn so yeah...
-
Every super is a crutch for the weak.
-
Terrible strategic analysis. But I def agree that radiance needs to be used more aggressively, there is a time and place for everything.
-
Ill have self res perk on but still use radiance to generate orbs for my fireteam. Mainly use it if i die in a bad area or surrounded by spawn w/e is too risky to be revived in. In saying that i dont die too often so mehh
-
Or your just butt hurt
-
1- self res can be very useful as a just in case for nightfalls and raids instead of just a crutch. 2- many people don not use it in crucible because if anything it's less useful than a giant goku ball of death 3- if it is just a crutch than I get to say that the Titan supers are just panic moves
-
This is only true if you can guarantee you don't die as another class. Less then 1% of the community has flawless raider and all of them had to try for it with quite a bit of effort. So when people inevitably die in high lvl PVE, sunsingers simply don't. Anyone that would turn down a self res based on that fact alone is an idiot.
-
Only use mine on solo pve bounties
-
You shouldn't turn down Sunsingers in Raids... Many a time they have saved the entire team from doing aBoss or checkpoint with their self-resurrection
-
-
And titans are built for defense, which you could say the same. Theyre weak players who need that extra defense to stay alive longer. I use voidwalker a lot more than sunsinger....... so your point is invalid.
-
So a Warlock has never saved any of your fire teams? Ever? Like ever? Seriously just once? Nightfall? Raid? Anything? /Thread Go home, bad kid. You're doing it wrong.
-
This is the truth. No one should be using a sunlock in crucible ever.
-
It's terrible in pvp only really shines in pve, let's you be a little more risky to get more damage in or go res a suicidal teammate and still keep fighting
-
Radiant skin. /thread
-
I'm tired of hearing this. Every class has their special. Pvp Titan smash and hunter blade are op. U might say warlock suck. But honestly who gives a shit. My self revive has save more hunter and Titan asses that I can count.
-
OP is a retard.

Edited by Fatman9994: 1/6/2015 7:08:45 PMYou using striker titan is a crutch so if you get surrounded you can freak out and knock everything back so you can run away. Using golden gun is a crutch because you can't get normal kills so you need that one hit kill or some big damage on bosses so you don't need to stay alive as long since you die a lot. Using nova bomb is a crutch because you it's just a big bomb to kill all the enemies because you can't do it like a normal guardian. NEWS FLASH SUPERS ARE CRUTCHES. Dumbass.....
-
I totally agree
-
Do you not realize how useful it can be in a nightfall or raid for a self rez to save you and your team. They're not waiting to die they're waiting to save your ass when you die. I can't count how many times a self rez has kept us in a nightfall, or even a hunter going invisible and reviving or even a titan popping a bubble just in time to save people. They're all useful in many ways.
