Warlock self-res is a crutch for the weak.
Seriously.
What use is it outside of PvP?
That's right - people who struggle to stay alive can have a second chance at dying again. Give me a Warlock whose build is based around staying alive any day of the week. A Warlock using self-res is basically waiting to die. They're holding the rest of the team back. They don't generate orbs unless they die. They don't activate supers unless they die. They're basically a drain on DPS and team strategy/cohesion. If you're a Warlock with self-res, you're letting your team-mates down.
When recruiting for Raids, I ask people if they use self-res and then turn them down if they say yes. I want my Warlocks to be team-players, not people concerned only about themselves.
It's not really any use in PvP either.
Edit: apologies if I've stopped replying to someone in particular, this forum makes it impossible to look through everything and keep up with every conversation.
Edit 2: Next week on Ackter Provokes: The Gjallarhorn and how if it was suddenly removed, 99% of players would no longer be able to beat anything!

Do you not realize how useful it can be in a nightfall or raid for a self rez to save you and your team. They're not waiting to die they're waiting to save your ass when you die. I can't count how many times a self rez has kept us in a nightfall, or even a hunter going invisible and reviving or even a titan popping a bubble just in time to save people. They're all useful in many ways.

I could list a million examples but I'll list one from today.... 4 guardians at the first bridge in Crotas End waiting for the path to be cleared. 2 guardians are down at the beginning area. We hold off the two ogres but the 4 of us die. While the respawn thing is counting down from 6 I saw "the path forward is clear" I self-resurrected, ran across, everyone got a raid drop, team cheered, warlock saved the day.
-
I use self res to either bypass the raid's revive timer during the rare (and they are rare now) occasions that I do die there, or during a Nightfall so I can save the group from a wipe if I do die (I also tend to be the last one alive here as well)

Turn people down for using fireborn? Lmao What makes you think a sunsinger won't use his super cause he is using fireborn? Sunsingers create the most orbs out of any class dipshit. Whether they use fireborn, radiant skin, or that useless other perk. There isn't a damage increase for using one perk or the other, so why would a good warlock not choose fireborn when it comes down to the hard raid? This is one of the more stupid posts I've seen on here.
-
Another guy who got killed in the crucible by a sunsinger who he thought was dead. It's a viable super that can be the difference between a wipe and a successful run. Can't tell you how many times iv'e saved the day in VoG by using fireborn. It's not used as a crutch, I don't rely on it, but it's nice to have when shit hits the fan.

Nonsense! I have a truth!
-
OP was touched in his winky by a Warlock when he was five, hence the hate.

Its all opinion...plus i like girls that give me a hard time !! Rule of thumb ; make a post and drown in negativity...you could say the sky is blue...youll get some dick saying its the reflection of the water...i love you all though thundercats thundercats thundercats hoooooooooooo

Edited by The Worm Keeper: 1/6/2015 7:20:52 PMThis is kinda true though. If you don't agree, then you're just trying to deny it

Oh dear lord , you simply cant make this shit up. I smell the stench of Troll.
-
This fag bitch probably killed a lock and it self ressed and bent him over and -blam!-ed him in the arse lmao

Warlock has more support abilities than a hunter tbh. In high lvl pve (raids) hunters abilities are 100% useless. Golden gun takes 2-3 shots to take out most raid pve enemies limiting the amount of orbs they can create and blade dancer in hard raid is 100% failure. Where people build the assumption that all warlocks who use self revive are easy to kill is beyond me. I have been in raids as a warlock were I have seen wipes happen more from Titan/hunters dying than a warlock dying and self reviving. If the only way you can do a rain is with specials (which are damn near useless in raids a majority of the time) than you need to learn new strategies and use better weapons as well.

Good players use radiance to generate orbs for the whole team all the time. The bad players are going to be bad no matter what class or subclass they use. You generalize all sunsinger warlocks as if they all are terrible at the game, I say take the stick out you're ass and narrow it down to the root of the problem. Shit players are shit players, period.
-
LMAO. What a complete douche post. this can be said for any of the characters and their supers. Titan's bubble when he has a bee's dick worth of health left, Blade Dancer to get out of overwhelming situations, etc. Each subclass has it's own perks that can save them and their teammates. Self res is a byproduct of being able to spam non-stop fusion grenades. Also, can def help when you are with crappy players that die all the time like in the Nightfalls.

Bro I love locks revive. Like a mama kamikaze I can get into the shit tally twice revive and nade the crap outta whatever primary and get out. Aggressive as hell. Love it
-
You are not a smart person.
-
Actually, the only time I use reborn is to help the team. I prefer voidwalker, myself. True, I tend to hold onto my super when I have reborn on, but it comes in so handy. Saving everyone from a wipe in a raid or nightfall is always helpful.
-
Lol ur so cute & stupid...
-
Meh I normally use it Incase my teammates and then I can't get to them in time before say a night 1 hits me with light switch. Most of the time I use the radiance that makes it harder to kill me or the one that reduces my teammates and my cool down for grenades and melted ect.
-
Are you an actual retard? What about in a nightfall, when the team wipes at the boss, but then a warlock busts back to life and revives everyone, you won't be whining about it then and calling it a crutch. Sorry you play with shitty warlocks who die all the time, also sorry that we warlocks wanna use our wicked cool super that brings us back to life. Like get a clue man, fireborn is the tits for raids and nightfalls, and if you say otherwise you are just wrong...
-
Edited by RobSky22: 1/6/2015 6:44:41 PMWell I appreciate your opinion about warlocks but being able to resurrect and using it when the time is right is helpful! Take the nightfall for example, when you and ur fireteam dies at the very end of a nightfall you'd wish you can resurrect! I see it as supporting class! It's not a crutch for the weak! It's second chance since you know how destiny's network is
-
Sorry, I just soloed the nightfall. What did you say?

OK, first of all, so that I don't get instantly shut down, I'm a Sunsinger, and I use either Song of Flame or Radiant Skin, depending on situation. However, I do this because I like grenades. I entirely understand plenty of reasons why someone would want to use Fireborn, and plenty are team related. One is that, in the case of a surprise party knockdown (think cursed thralls), they can salvage the whole strike or raid. Is rather handy. Second, they might be newer to a raid or strike, and not want to hinder the party as much. Third, they may like to be less of a burden on anyone in the case that they drop. And forth, some people just like having an "oh shit " button. Now, if they save their radiance for self rez, what is the part missing? A burst of dps every few minutes, yes, I'll admit that, assuming they go 'nade crazy. Possibly increasing the teams cool down with Song of Flame. However, this means they have to be close enough to effect someone. Not always feasible. Some short lived extra survivability, if they are using Radiant Skin and possibly Flame Shield. Maybe more if they are using Apeothesis Veil, but most Sunsingers seem to rock an exotic chest piece or gauntlets instead. This isn't really that big a trade of for someone who could possibly save a strike or raid. That said, team up with who makes you comfortable.

Agreed, only noobs use Warlocks
