Warlock self-res is a crutch for the weak.
Seriously.
What use is it outside of PvP?
That's right - people who struggle to stay alive can have a second chance at dying again. Give me a Warlock whose build is based around staying alive any day of the week. A Warlock using self-res is basically waiting to die. They're holding the rest of the team back. They don't generate orbs unless they die. They don't activate supers unless they die. They're basically a drain on DPS and team strategy/cohesion. If you're a Warlock with self-res, you're letting your team-mates down.
When recruiting for Raids, I ask people if they use self-res and then turn them down if they say yes. I want my Warlocks to be team-players, not people concerned only about themselves.
It's not really any use in PvP either.
Edit: apologies if I've stopped replying to someone in particular, this forum makes it impossible to look through everything and keep up with every conversation.
Edit 2: Next week on Ackter Provokes: The Gjallarhorn and how if it was suddenly removed, 99% of players would no longer be able to beat anything!

Home insurance is a crutch for the weak. If you have it that means you can't protect your home well enough
-
I do see your point, no one should play stupid in the nightfall just because they have fireborn. However, if you truely believe what you say then if a warlock uses self res and then revives you in a nightfall you should just exit to orbit since you don't believe in using self res as a backup. I doubt that you'll do that though.

I find it handy in the first part of crota. As in I can go back to save a teammate. Then die and be able to run fast again to catch back up to everyone.
-
That's nice and all but honestly, unless they are in your game, you really can't do much. If I want to sit on a super whether as a voidwalker or sunsinger, I'll sit on my super. If I want to generate orbs, I'll mess with my class setup and gear. I'm not going to redo a whole raid phase because others screwed up when there's a chance to end it; I prefer to keep my special and heavy ammo instead of wasting synths. And I'm also not stupid enough to believe I can cover all my bases, all areas I can be shot from when there's only three alive during the confluxes and one of those three goes down which leaves you to solo left and middle.
-
Nightfalls, hard mode, just useful in general
-
I have a higher raid k/d than you on all 3 of your characters and I use Fireborn...
-
Self Rez saves lives. I don't use it for Pvp I use dmg redu instead
-
Using your logic every super is a crutch if you use it !!!! Seriously what the actual fcuk are you even on about .. ? .... This has to be a troll attempt

After reading numerous replies on this post and the OP's responses, i think I'll offer this advice. "Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience." Mark Twain

Lol selfish? You realize we only save it for y'all right? I couldn't give a -blam!- if I die then people will do the work for me but on hard mode when people die it's always the warlocks left to finish the activity 2 or 3 men down. Also we use it to save wipes and to revive y'all constantly. I run back in the thrall abyss to revive everyone who goes down simply cuz I can without dying myself
-
Its a class feature there to be used however the person playing chooses. Not how you decide they should.
-
I die far less than most everyone I play with. And its always up to me to save their asses. Without having to self res I would out live you every time hands down and probably while doing more damage. Maybe you just suck.
-
Vault of Glass I use Fireborn. Crota's End I use Song of Flame. PvP I use Radiant Skin. All about being flexible.
-
Whatever class you are, I'm sure I've pulled up your asses a few times buddy.
-
Twitch.tv/wishyouluckk Number 1 pvper on xbox uses radiance and massacres peeps. Your point is invalid sir.
-
What use is it outside of PvP ? Well how about stopping your sorry butt from been sent back to orbit on a nightfall ?
-
You just jelly
-
Agreed, I use raidiant skin, heart of praxic fire, and fusions grenades for max single target dps on bosses.
-
Disagree. Although it can be. When there is one on your team in pve it can be excellent.
-
Your post is dumb, sorry. Sometimes sh1t happens on a nightfall. How bout this, while the sunsinger plays back, a random, out of nowhere, enemy may come and wipe the other 2 members out. They suck for dying but you need them none the less. During your attempt to revive a wizard, a f4cking wizard, comes and just mows you down. BAM back to orbit, BUT WAIT, you're a sunsinger and mash the top buttons, revive your downed titan teammate, he then fires off his titan shield. At which point you revive the other fallen member who is a hunter and he then, goes invisible to save himself? The titan and warlock abilities help out the entire team while hunters are mostly for themselves. I'm not playing class warfare here. I have all 3 and all 3 have just about maxed subclasses. All have strengths and all have weaknesses.

Sometimes death is inevitable. #Supplicants.
-
No logic, if it helps then use it. If not, don't pretend to be better, we don't measure how far you can pee here.
-
I usually use void walker unless I get with a group that constantly dies a lot then I'll switch to sunslinger but I use the damage reduction super or cool down the only time I use self revive is during VoG while using the relic
-
Guessing you havent done the raid then?
-
If you don't understand why people would use self-res in pve or pvp you my friend are an idiot. I would give examples but I'm just tired of repeating them to morons.
-
Only reason I use it is to piss people like you off :D
